UTMB FALL 2014

I would like to start a thread for UTMB FALL 2014 since there I cannot find one. I am in the process of applying and this is the only school I am applying to. Right now, I just trying to finish my personal statement before I can submit it. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time.So, how is everyone else doing?

Anyway, thank you very much! I am nervous for the interview. I am not expecting to get in because I know they are extremely selective. I imagine everyone to be of super intelligence, and I consider myself to...not be, lol! I just work hard!

I do not like to call because I always feel like I am bothering someone and I know that they have a lot going on right now and I should just be patient. However, my husband pressed me to be persistent and to not give up until I get my answer either way. He also made the point that maybe my application is sitting under a pile on someone's desk and they might never know that it wasn't reviewed unless I brought it to their attention.

I do find it odd that the 3 of us interviewed early in this first wave and have not received any news, especially after other people who interviewed a couple of weeks after us did not have to wait very long at all. Maybe ours was put off to the side or fell through the cracks? Hopefully ours will be looked at today and we will receive some good news tomorrow! :)

So, about 10 minutes ago, I received another interview invite.. This time for the general admission to the school of nursing. I found that slightly odd since I received an interview invite for the honors program first (about a week ago) and then the general interview invite today- but an interview is another opportunity! Luckily, I was able to schedule both interviews about an hour apart on the same day just to get both over with since I live pretty far from Galveston.

Also, does anybody have an idea how many people get admitted into the Honors Program? I know they're highly selective but I was just wondering if anyone had an idea from the previous fall applicants.

Congrats and good luck!!! I am still watiting on an invite. If you dont mind me asking, what were yalls GPA's and TEAS scores?

I just got an interview invite as well! I scheduled it for next week (during Spring Break). I wonder what the chances are that you will get in if you get an interview. Anyone know"?

I think for the honors program they take 5-8 people, but I'm not 100% on that. I asked when I got the invite to apply and she said it wasn't a set amount. As for the traditional program, i think your chances are pretty good if you get an interview. I've seen they interview maybe 150-200 and they take about 120.

Hey fellow applicants,

I am new to these posts and I appreciate reading all that y'all have written. It has helped me a lot in the application process knowing some one else is as nervous as I am. Congrats to those of you that have been accepted! I know you must be thrilled. Some of you have applied to several schools, like I have.......please remember to let the schools you decline know that so they can go on down the list and hopefully make a space for me lol! All of your scores are so impressive that I worry that I may be further down on the list. Anyway......congrats to all and best of luck to those waiting like me!

Does the admissions committee meet only on Mondays? Anyone know? Should more of us expect to get interview invites throughout this week?

I am not sure; however, I see what you mean because people seem to be getting their emails on Mondays. I thought it mostly depended on when you submitted your application because that seems more valid. I submitted mine January 13, so I am surprised I am hearing back this soon. I received my interview invite today.
