Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
Browsing on the previous thread for Fall 2010 I saw the first batch received their interview invitation on March 1st and the second batch @ March 15th. So hopefully they're on the same schedule & we don't have much longer to wait :)
Oh wow!! I was thinking mid to end of April!! That's just a bit away - March 1 is one week from today!
I'm pretty sure you get your econnect IF you are already accepted into the program. I think it's just mystar for now...I could be wrong.
Looking at previous threads...i'm still not sure what the usual gpa and TEAS scores UTMB is looking for.
Can anyone tell me what a good GPA and TEAS score would look like to get into UTMB...or have a good chance getting in?

I emailed **** a while back for stats, here's her reply: "We typically review 400+ applications and admit 100 students. The cohort entering Fall 2010 has an overall GPA of 3.3 with science and prereq at 3.4."
I don't have info on TEAS (didn't ask at the time). Anyway, if those are averages, clearly many people with lower GPAs are accepted, which is more proof that UTMB looks at everything and one can get in on other merits. :)
Hopefull2013

They are still processing applications. Mine is still incomplete but I was assured they had everything I just had to wait for them to get to my application. You can call enrollment services and they will check if they have all your stuff.
