Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
Sorry not to be on time to catch up with you guys. I cant express my feelings anymore. Somehow I believe that I would be accepted but have been trying painfully to prepare for a bad news.
I learned today that the UTMB registrar was terminated a few weeks ago because application packages were being delayed in getting to the appropriate schools, sometimes for up to several months after the submission deadline. Apparently the registrar's office sitting on applications is why the interviews and acceptances have been delayed/prolonged. The applications have been straggling in from the registrars office, so the nursing faculty is trying to catch up and get the notifications made.

I'm applying for spring. For those of you who received acceptance letters or emails can message me your teas score or overall gpa or share with the thread. And if all your prerequisites where complete or not?
I was wait listed too HA!!! Congrats to everyone who did get in.....Um to be honest I probably won't reapply to UTMB and I seriously doubt anyone will turn down the opportunity to go so..... moving on!!!

Dont you wonder why they turned you down? My teas score was 77.8%, overall GPA was 3.2, science's 3.5 and I got "highly recommded" from the interviewer. I will talk to Dr. Cuellar to find out in 2 wks.
One more thing that ****** me off more is that I am taking the sociology for this dammed school, costing me time and money for nothing.
I just got my acceptance letter. Is anyone looking for a roommate? I don't know anyone down there and it would be nice to find a fellow nursing school roommate to live with!

Also, you only need 40 hours done out of the 60 hrs of prereqs, if you look on the website: http://son.utmb.edu/programsofstudy/bsn/entrancerequirements.cfm. However, if you are able to take your sciences and make good grades, that might make your application look stronger. Plus that could help you do better on the science portion of TEAS too. Good luck!

Overall GPA was 3.77
Science GPA - 2.94
10 yrs medical experience
When I applied, I had my last pre-req in progress.
A lot of us have already posted TEAS/GPA info throughout this thread...take a look back at the earlier posts, I'd say page 50 and earlier. Especially at the beginning of the thread, we shared a lot of our stats.
