Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
I called too and they said that they're still reviewing my application!! I'm like you nellyb.. it gives me hope, but at the same time I'm scared and frustrated....On the other hand, I received an acceptance letter from College of the Mainland so I got in at Galveston College and COM, but still not my first choice...
Well I really hope we both make it in.... Because to have to go through all this for nothing would be even worse :-(! Of course this is my first choice but what really sucks is if I don't get in then ill have to wait til the spring to start...definitely not what I wanted to do
I hope so too nellyb... is been a long journey, we have to stay positive, but don't feel bad if you have to start in the spring because you'll be finish at the same time as the fall!!! We have to stay positive no matter what, but we have to remember that they're still choices and not to give up!!! I would much rather have a bachelor's degree instead of two associate's..but I'm not going to give up on my dreams and still get my bachelor's sooner or later!! I much rather sooner though!!
I dont know if this is a mistake, but I got a rejection letter yesterday. It is weird because I called yesterday to ask and she said decisions have not been made and that they would be sent out by friday. I am praying to God this was a mistake! I will call when they open...
Definitely give them a call and find out for sure, hopefully is just a mistake!!!
I called UTMB's SON last week on thursday and they said that they were still considering my application. I still have not received an interview, so I have been pretty depressed waiting around and hearing nothing. She told me to wait until this friday to see if I hear anything and if I hadn't then to call again. This has been a tough process for me to deal with. I feel for all of you people still waiting. Good luck! My friend got accepted the day before school started last fall, so, if you still haven't heard anything try to stay positive. I am fine with being waitlisted for the time being. I already retook my TEAS test for a higher grade and I applied to TWU and UTMB for the Spring semester 2012. I can't wait for a response and then miss the deadline. Keep your head up ladies and beat down those doors until they let you in :)
Well, after reading all the blocks from you guys and my own experience, I definitely do not believe in what they said. If the decision has not been made, how come Reed00 got the acceptance already while her interview was on May 23rd? My big question for Reed00 is that how you got them answer you? what number and whom did you talk to? I tried the nursing department and enrollment services and noone told me anything.
I first got the rejection mail but also got an email and a phone call saying that they made a mistake and wanted to interview with me on May 9th. So, guruamrit, call them and be prepared for anything.
