Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
My daughter is applying and I am FURIOUS with the entire process, it's been HORRIBLE for her and evidently for everyone. I learned today that the UTMB registrar was terminated a few weeks ago because application packages were being delayed in getting to the appropriate schools, sometimes for up to several months after the submission deadline. Apparently the registrar's office sitting on applications is why the interviews and acceptances have been delayed/prolonged. The applications have been straggling in from the registrars office, so the nursing faculty is trying to catch up and get the notifications made. I don't really care about the reason because I think they could at least keep you all informed and not keep everyone agonizing every week waiting for an email or letter, but I thought maybe an explanation (which you evidently won't get from the BSN folks) might help with the waiting. I wonder how many people they are accepting and how many people got interviews. Does anyone know? Also of those people how many have actually found out. I'm still praying for good news and keeping my hopes up! Good luck y'all! Congrats to those whom have already found out!

I hope not either...but I'm definitely on the fence about subjecting myself to it again

I called and they said that they're still considering me, maybe it means I'll be waitlisted who knows!!
