Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
Well my is G, so I already gave up hope and I can always try for the spring, but I'm running out of time to apply and I feel the necessity to start somewhere already!!! I feel so hopeless...

I say go ahead and do your applying for spring wherever you wanna go because if you don't get in for the fall then your not stuck without a plan for spring and if you do get in you can just pull your applications to the places you applied to for the spring...thanks for making me think about that haha
They've been telling me two weeks for the past month...
oh wow... that is a long time waiting. I would honestly call the Student of Affairs and Admissions person. She is the one who sends out all the e-mails and everything. Just explain to her your situation and maybe she can help you and tell you something final and solid.
I interviewed on the May 9th and last name begins with D and still did not hear nothing this really does suck if they did send out all emails friday I just dont know what could have gone wrong if that was all the emails sent friday. I guess I will call tomorrow morning and see. This really sucks...

ya know...I didn't even know **** did all of that, I just thought she was an advisor. I had a meeting with her before I even graduated high school and called her regularly about my classes and how my TEAS went and everything, she said I had nothing to worry about and that was back when my GPA was like a 3.4, if it was even that. I'm almost convinced they lost my paperwork like they did in February when I first applied...

Are you sure about that? I've received 5 official communication emails from the school and they have all come from the same person, and it wasn't her. The only time I've received correspondence from her has been when I initiated it. All she is responsible for is pre-admission counseling.
I know it must be incredibly frustrating to still be waiting - I still believe they have the most screwy admission process EVER!! I just wanted to wish you all good luck - hope each of you get a great news in your emails/mailboxes today!! And if you don't, don't give up. I know that must seem easy for me to say, but I've been trying to reach my dreams for 11 years - so it's not hopeless!!

When I got my interview call, I didn't got it from the e-mail, but this lady called me to remind me about my interview. Then I gave her my e-mail add to send me more instructions. Well, my point is that I have her phone number.
Like you guys, I didn't got any letters or e-mails regarding my status (acceptance/rejection) so today morning, I called her, and she said that she's the one who's sending mails to us about acceptance and rejecting letters and she was out for last weekend -I believe including last friday- and so she will catch her work by this week.
Also, I asked her about people who got letters from last friday, and then she told me that people who did interview on 23rd are not decided yet. So I'm putting my hopes up, and guys, don't give up yet. :)

Well this makes me feel a little better about things :-) but I think what really bothers me is that everybody is giving different information (utmb staff) Well the wait continues.......
I called this morning and the lady told me that they have a lot of good applicants so they are still deciding. I asked when we will be notified and she said we were hoping end of this week but looks like beginning of next! Uhg the waiting continuess...

Yea I was just about to share that. I went to check the mail half expecting bad news when I came across nothing at all. Needless to say I believe that was just as annoying so I called. I called ******** ****** and she said they initially were planning to be done by the end of but since she isn't going to be there (she is the person who sends the emails) they aren't expecting to be finished til early next week. Delivery will still be the same....acceptance will come via email and "correspondence" (as she put it) will come through the mail. So does this put me at ease..... not really but at least we know they aren't close to being finished :-) :-(
