Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
I apologized for calling (again) and told them that UTMB was my first choice (because it was) so I was just checking my status (again) and asked if my application was in SON's hands. I thanked everyone profusely along the way and sent thank you e-mails to everyone who helped me when I got my acceptance. MyStar has never changed for me...I am still "In Progress" according to the system even though I got my acceptance letter in the mail.

I hope you get your MyStar figured out! You have the actual acceptance letter so I wouldn't worry too much.
Thank you for your advice. I just emailed her and have to wait for more. I took TEAS for TWU and also got it sent to UTMB. I read UTMB's website and realized that TEAS for UTMB was different from TWU's. Do you guys know if TEAS score is valued equally to the 2 schools? Thanks.

Email **** at the School of Nursing and make sure they have your application. Applications first go to Enrollment Services and then to SON. You are your own best advocate! I was told by Enrollment Services that my application was being processed but it hadn't even been sent over to SON. I spoke with **** and she was a big help. I firmly believe that if I hadn't pushed to be reviewed I would not have gotten an interview in the second round.

I received my official acceptance letter today (yeah!!! ) But this school still makes me want to bang my head against the wall. Listed inside are 3 courses I need to complete... Despite Resending official transcripts, they have me listed with Micro in progress and needing to complete A&PII and a Science elective!!
If they'd actually look at my transcripts, they would see that the Micro was completed LAST summer, A&PII Last fall and my elective is in progress!!
No wonder their admission process has been so frustrating!!

I never heard from them. The girls from my classes that applied have all interviewed and were accepted. While I was pretty sure my chances weren't great, it's kind of an ego killer not to have at least got a phone call. Those Ws must have really killed my chances.. or perhaps I had a crappy essay (my hubby liked it lol) I donno- I guess I'll go lick my wounds...
