Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
So I called... and they said they're reviewing my application right now. I wonder if they don't do in order of priority? Like the first round of interviews weren't sent because those people had top priority... at least that's what I'm guessing. Because a lot of y'all have said you have really good scores but you didn't get your interview till way later... I guess we all just gotta be patient, haha. Even if we don't agree with their process.
Today my nerves are especially on edge. I just wish this would end. Both with UTMB and my other school. Maybe a margarita will help my night.... is 3:30 too early to grab one :)
@PAMQ---I think you're right, it might be kind of at random. Patience is key. :)
@Stephmarie: I hear you on that. If anything keeps me out, I think it'll be my past grades. Without saying too much about the interview, I will say that we talked about previous grades...which I expected. I also talked a lot about that in my essay. So if you get an interview maybe you'll have a chance to communicate how well you've done since then. :)
Yeah, I contacted Ms. Turner yesterday about my application, and it turns out:
Records indicate that your application has been processed by Enrollment Services, but has not been sent to the SON yet. We hope to receive and review all applications by the end of next week.
They're not through yet! I am a little urked that even though I submitted my application early, it's still taking this long! But oh well.
Don't lose hope, people! :)
At this point, I believe the application batch selection is DEFINITELY random.
For those of you that interviewed last week, when did they tell you you should hear back? The lady I interviewed with said I should know something by the end of this week, given that they vote on them on Monday. So I really hope that's the case. I didn't walk out of there feeling very confident but still anxious to know one way or another. If I do get in I will also be debating between UTMB and TWU.

lol...funny you should say that...unfortunately I don't even think I have a spot at UTMB to pass on to others. I came out of the interview feeling like lots was left to discuss. Not only that but she stumped me on a question where she asked "anything else" lol....I was like..."ughhh...i don't think so"....lmao...awkward
