Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
If UTMB isn't your absolute first choice and if you don't get an interview email by Friday, I would just accept TWU.
TWU (Houston) only takes the top 90 applicants, so unless you are super set on going to UTMB, I wouldn't risk an admission that you KNOW you have for sure. I hope I'm making sense.
and yes FLAN you make complete sense =) which is why I was concerned about taking the risk but since UTMB is my first choice I guess I will have to find out and see how it works.

I gave my interview today, it went good so far. They told me they goin to reply me within couple of weeks. I am in kind of dilemma Because i already get acceptance letter from TWU and i have to reply them before 15th of April. I hope UTMB rely me before that day :-)
They definitely are not done reviewing applications. I got this email yesterday...

punky - i wouldn't worry, i haven't heard anything, no interview invite, etc. and i have 91 TEAS (that's 99th percentile) & 3.8 GPA.
Well mines not as high, but close... I also haven't heard anything yet. I know I've said this a billion times, but it's bothering me that I haven't been called for an interview for UTMB. They don't even email people to let them know if they've been rejected, yet. I think they do know who they want to accept and who they want to put on the wait list. Maybe their applications/ interview rounds aren't arranged by priority? I'm just judging that based on what other people have been saying about UTMB's process. Also, does anyone know if in order to be accepted you have to have an interview? Are people still accepted without interviews? Just wondering.
Hey guys...I too had an interview this week for UTMB. I have already been accepted to TWU, YAY...but still going to weigh out my options if I get in. Seems like many of you who have not heard anything have excellent GPA's and TEAS. Not sure how their system works but the lady that interviewed me said they selected applicants who had something stand out in their applications that needed more looking into, to be interviewed by the committee. She did bring up that I recently have received a W and an F this past Fall 2010 semester. I have a few W's from years ago and she did not even mention those. So at this point I am thinking they have already reserved a spot for those of you with great stats and are just debating between us with recent bumps in the road?!? Just a thought
