Compact reinstatement VA
Can you guys walk me through what happened? The process of going from single state back to compact? I'm in Texas and thought it would be automatic ? What do you need to do (if anything?) and how long does it take/ THANKS!

False positive urine
Hppy - Can you tell us more about the incidental exposure process? I'm waiting test results and with Winter, chapped hands, hand sanitizer, omicron etc. I'm terrified. What is the process after a positive test result?

value out of range
WVNurse2020 - any update? I'm new to a year long of monitoring and have been really struggling with the urine - 1st one was dilute, next negative, 3rd "value out of range" I think I've become sooo scared of water before testing. Hoping to find the right balance soon. Any feedback about your interactions with your CM / testing repercussions for these "non-negative" results. So far (1 week) I haven't heard from my CM for "value out of range" and I haven't been tested again ... ? DistressedRN - what state was your program in? I truly have no idea how to read my CM. she seems wonderful, but I'm so fearful of the whole "gotcha" angle of things ? Support and specifics appreciated. Feel free to private message me as I would love to talk about testing specifics.

TPAPN and Peth test
Can anyone talk to peth and hand sanitizer? The warnings are freaking me out (and I don't have the option to avoid it in my current job). If I don't ingest alcohol but use hand sanitizer very frequently at work, will I be able to pass the tests? Real talk / true life experiences please (AND THANK YOU!)

Positive Peth
My job requires CONSTANT hand sanitizer; can anyone talk to regular clinical use of hand sanitizer and peth?!

Help me please!
YES TO EVERYTHING HERE! I'm in the midst of my drama but when I am finished with the whole ordeal I intend to be vocal about it!

Affinity Testing
emergencynurse2011: what state are you testing in? what is the program called (if you don't mind) what labs can you use? and what are the longest testing center hours at the locations available to you? THANK YOU!

bboy45, what state are you in? what were the longest testing hours at the sites available to you? what program / track were you in that was 2.5 years? I'm asking all these questions because my mind jumps to worst case scenario, and I've read some horrible things about case managers ... and what if I have a super bogus one? BUT I CAN'T LET FEAR DRIVE MY DECISIONS and your response is totally right, so thank you! THANK YOU for addressing hand sanitizer! very helpful! I'm sure once I get in a groove things will be fine. kind of wish I could take a baseline test before signing my contract ? this is all super helpful! I will pay it forward to nurses down the road once I get my taste at the program

Affinity Testing
HELP re: hand sanitizer! Texas TPAPN EEP says if we use hand sanitizer we risk testing positive for alcohol. I do NOT have an option to NOT use hand sanitizer at my job. Any word from people here that have clean tests but are still living life as a normal nurse? The other day I was pulling up some ativan and some got on my hand, etc. I don't want to live in fear that these tests are so psycho-specific I'll get in trouble for kissing a boy that just had a drink etc. I can 100% stay drug and alcohol-free but all the horror stories are making me consider just surrendering my license. I don't want to fear having a perfume sample bust me. Real talk please from someone that works in a hospital/floor setting. THANKS!

mediation with BON..What should I expect?
I TOTALLY hear you with "wanting to move on with your life" and I DO! I will jump through WHATEVER hoops but I just feel like the logistics could create even more problems, if that makes sense. you've been so helpful and so kind to me, I'm going to shoot you an email here in a bit. THANK YOU!

WOW! I totally hear everything being said here! Would love to talk. What are testing logistics? I travel frequently - Are there sites EVERYWHERE I can go to? How far do I need to be driving. What if I need to test on a 7a-7p work day, etc. Agreeing to a year of testing is one thing but am I also agreeing to staying at home in the same town for a year and quitting my job so I can jump through hoops? Do you get what I'm saying? I just can't agree up front to something that I don't know what I'm agreeing to. ALSO: I find the official hand sanitizer stance REALLY unethical. I know it's a CYA thing but pressuring nurses to not use a facilities' readily available hand sanitizer is NOT COOL! There are few sinks on my floor and we have to sanitize before going in and out of patient rooms and this is audited with the hall cameras. THE.FACT.THAT.TPAPN.MAKES.ME.WORRY.ABOUT.THIS.IS.GROSS but YEAH: any insight from someone that's dealt with the program would be awesome! THANKS

Early Release from TPAPN or EEP?
My lawyer can't get any of his former clients to talk to me, I believe he's not actually asking or trying. I understanding guarding information when it pertains to the board or public (like in a forum like this) but once this situation is resolved for me, I am looking forward to being open about it to help others
