  1. Yes everyone is unique- all I was saying was for people to investigate with their respective BONs. I do not have a workplace incident and I was the person going to the BON not being reported. I did not say all BONs were this way but I do think people should be sure especially because all of this is expensive and time consuming. I wanted to start but also did not want to have additional expense with no credit so I asked. I am in contact with my BON and the monitoring program is affiliated with them and I was asked to get an evaluation from that program. I asked them if I could enroll early to specifically start my one year and I was told I will not get any credit if I start monitoring now as there is no board order. I have to wait until the board votes on it even though that is the recommendation from the discipline committee and the monitoring program evaluation. I will not get monitoring credit.
  2. I am just writing to caution everyone signing up for monitoring without being ordered to. Please do so if you need help, but make sure you will get credit for your time if you are just doing so to get the clock started. While some states may credit your time in a monitoring program not all do. I was found after my evaluation not to have a substance abuse disorder, but that the monitoring program is recommending enrollment for one year to rule it out/prove it. I have not been ordered to do so by the board yet as it has to be approved by a final board meeting which is not until Dec. I asked the board if I could enroll now to start the process. They of course said yes I can enroll, but none of the time will be counted until I am ordered to do so.
  3. Hi, I was wondering if anyone was able to tell me if they were able to only get a monitoring agreement of 2 years versus 3 or 5 for a DUI and what state that was? No workplace violations/concerns and no substance abuse issues. I understand all cases are individualized but wanting to know if any state has 2 year agreements or if they are all 3 to 5. From my research I saw that Texas is 3 years, but if you are an APRN one would get a 5 year monitoring agreement. Are there any other states that have an increased monitoring agreement for APRNs?
  4. Thank you for that information. Did you have trouble finding a job after being placed in the program? What area were you able to get hired in? Also wondering if they suspended your license for a period of time as part of the process.
  5. Hi, I am not asking about surrendering a license, I do understand the ramifications of that. I am asking if he had problems getting his license as a PA due to him having the history of surrendering a license. Wondering if he had problems getting a job as a PA with having done the monitoring program and having to answer that he had been investigated by any state licensing agency. He said he surrendered and then went to PA school and was able to get that license and get a job - I am just wondering if he had trouble getting through HR and credentialing departments with that on his file.
  6. Nurse Gray- I saw you are in CO. Can you tell me how your evaluation went if it was in person or virtual. How long did you get put on monitoring for? Did you have trouble getting or keeping your job?
  7. Did you have any problem getting your PA license or jobs as a PA with the history of surrendering a license? Did you complete the VA monitoring program? Also wondering if you have to answer yes to questions on applications that ask if you have every been investigated or had restrictions on a license by any state licensing agency and if that has caused you any problems in getting jobs.
  8. Anyone move to a new state while awaiting court for a DWAI and get accepted by that BON?
  9. Also wondering if your eval with CO was in person or virtual and what testing do they have you do?
  10. I have applied to a facility but am afraid they aren't going to even look at my application as they might think me overqualified. I might need to directly contact someone there.
  11. Thank you- hoping to send you a PM but I need a certain # of posts first. Happy to hear you secured a job!

Colorado does not know at the moment as I have not gone to court.

Thanks, I do understand, I was more deciding which state to make my home. My WY is currently inactive, but I could re-instate before going to court. and then let CO lapse. It is due for renewal in September. In CO the hospitals are a system or all grouped in to several management companies. So being denied credentialing in one = several. I last tried with a smaller group and they rescinded the job offer without even letting it go to credentialing. It's just really frustrating as I'm sure you know. My previous job's credentialing department revoked my privileges due to the arrest. So I also have to check yes to privileges revoked on my credentialing packets due to threshold criteria but not due to care related issues or competence.
  14. Thanks, I'm in CO. I feel like no one will touch me until after the BON has completed their assessments, but I haven't even been to court yet. I have letters of recommendation but at the one hospital my application did not even get to the credentialing department before my offer was rescinded.
