Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
Hey guys...I too had an interview this week for UTMB. I have already been accepted to TWU, YAY...but still going to weigh out my options if I get in. Seems like many of you who have not heard anything have excellent GPA's and TEAS. Not sure how their system works but the lady that interviewed me said they selected applicants who had something stand out in their applications that needed more looking into, to be interviewed by the committee. She did bring up that I recently have received a W and an F this past Fall 2010 semester. I have a few W's from years ago and she did not even mention those. So at this point I am thinking they have already reserved a spot for those of you with great stats and are just debating between us with recent bumps in the road?!? Just a thought
Congratulations! I'm still waiting to hear back from TWU... I know they already sent out letters of acceptances but they're not telling people who haven't heard anything if they're rejected/ wait-listed... I think we will know all of that in late April... probably after they give the wait-listed people acceptances from the people who decline TWU. Did you apply to TWU Dallas or Houston?
Houston...we have until April 15th to accept or deny. By reading their thread many of those applicants are choosing UT over TWU so I'm sure more spots will open up.

Hmm...so do you think they are just interviewing because they needed some clearing up? Or does every person that they want to be accept get interviewed?
I really hope to hear something soon.

Today mystar changed and I don't know if it was good or bad. I now have stuff under the "to do"... it says "NursingCAS complete & TEAS" then when I click the details my application is "active" and the TEAS says "initiated"? Hmmm... did/ does anyone have this?
No I don't have that... then again I didn't use the NursingCAS for UTMB. Maybe that's just for the Admissions Office's to see. If you were missing anything, they would have already of contacted you and obviously, it's too late for that.

Hey mines says the same also that NursingCas is complete under to do list and details, but when I go to application status it says application incomplete it says the following:
All supporting documents have been submitted to the Nursing Centralized Application Service and will be used for the processing of your application to UTMB. You will be required to submit official transcripts upon acceptance to the UTMB School of Nursing.
I dont understand one place it says complete the other incomplete. Guess ill have to call again. Applying through NursingCas has just been a whole hectic process over all =/
Mines does not have anything on TEAS though like yours.. that might be the problem that they need to pull my TEAS score or something. Thats all I needed another issue to deal with now
Ok thank goodness I'm not the only one SD56! We are in the same boat lol maybe they are going to let us know soon :) I wrote Vicki an email asking about it
The letter they sent includes the prereq's that need to be finished. Also says we need to do immunizations, criminal background check, CPR certification, and drug screening before enrollment in the fall. I just got the letter today

oh okay. thanks for the info .. are you commuting or are you moving to galveston?
I'm going to move to the island. Thinking about the ferry apartments. Either that or the dorms (if theres no other choice) lol are u moving or commuting?
