Hi My Fellow Nurses,
My name is Letisha, and I live in Brooklyn, NY. I am seeking an online Family NP Program. I know about Frontier, Downstate and Utica College. Does anyone have any reviews about Utica's online FNP program? I know it's a relatively new program. Any info is very much appreciated!
Hello, all
Is anyone know any peds and OB preceptors on Long Island?
I had both a Peds and OB preceptor but the school rejected them both and now im stuck with only a few weeks left before the semester starts to find preceptors during a covid spike. Called a few places and was already told not taking students at this time due to a increase in covid.
any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Why did they not approve it? They already barely help with placement id escalate this

I was accepted into the May 2022 class, how is the program? How are the exams? I was in the FNP program at CMSV and it is terrible. Any feedback would be appreciated.
I would suggest reading through this thread if you haven’t… there are a bunch of us graduating in May and we’ve had a pretty good experience with it. It gets tougher after the first year, but most of us have remained working part and full time, and with young kids. The school doesn’t help find preceptors, so I would start searching about 6-9 months before clinical starts, because it’s rough out there. Good luck—it flies!

Hi, yes we are graduating in May 2022! It is definitely a do-able program. It is not easy, requires a lot of time to read and attend sync sessions which is zoom sessions with your professor. The exams are not horrible, they are proctored with Examity and the weekly quizzes are not, they are closed book, honesty quizzes.
I have no regrets about choosing this school. The professors are almost all with PhD’s and the graduate level work is expected.

Hey did you ever find a preceptor?
HI!!
I don't know why I didn't see this before! LOL , yes I did find preceptors, they approved my peds after long negotiations, and I found a preceptor for OB, but it so far it like an 1.5 hr drive from me but, I'm just doing it and getting it over with.
This semester in general is just a lot to deal with, can't wait for it to be over.
