I would suggest reading through this thread if you haven’t… there are a bunch of us graduating in May and we’ve had a pretty good experience with it. It gets tougher after the first year, but most of us have remained working part and full time, and with young kids. The school doesn’t help find preceptors, so I would start searching about 6-9 months before clinical starts, because it’s rough out there. Good luck—it flies!

I believe to my knowledge this is a pretty hard and fast rule. I don't really know of anyone who has challenged this concept and had a different outcome. I'm sorry... I'm in 622 (graduating May) and this has been the course thus far with the 84 average. It's a *** rule that we have all had our gripes with. If it's any consolation, I think 621 is harder than 622 has been thus far (quiz and test wise) if you can get through this semester, there's hope for next! Best of luck

No problem! They use American databank which is a system you pay for that does all the digging in background check, immunizations and stuff to that nature. You’ll have to get fingerprinted but other than that they do the digging for you LOL. I rented most books from amazon or chegg and it has been pretty inexpensive thus far. I’d check into that! Getting the pdf versions (you can find some for free by just googling) is also helpful because you can search key words or phrases to help with assignments and quizzes

All class exams are different. If they are quizzes they are usually unproctored but timed. Exams are administered through a proctoring service that Utica hires. You have to use your computer or laptop camera and are monitored through that. They don’t provide a camera. You just use what’s on your computer

How exciting! I had ------------------- for quality. She was good. They are tough graders with writing, like I mentioned before. we all felt we learned a lot in this class. The textbook was actually pretty good also. The zoom class in leadership is every other week (so four sessions) for two hours at a time. You have to ask when your time is, or you will see when you’re given access to the class. I would ask ahead of time in case you have to switch classes to accommodate the time. If you miss, you have to write a paper instead. Usually during the meetings you break out into separate group and answer some questions. It’s pretty informal, and wasn’t too bad actually.

Classes are going really well! Are you taking quality improvement first? Who is your instructor? We have enjoyed everything thus far but are learning they are VERY strict on apa and writing. I suggest buying the premium grammarly subscription and studying the 7th edition apa. There’s a big paper and presentation in quality improvement . Also, your second class (leadership) has live sessions (zoom meetings) that none of us knew about until we signed up. Best of luck!

Hi! I may not be the best person to answer, since I am in upstate NY and the cases are not too crazy here... I also work outpatient and have not been “drafted” per say to the hospital setting, so I am not under much stress in that regard. The classes are still going and there is no talk of suspending them or stopping them, although there are a few students from NYC whom I know are much more stressed about it. I can’t speak for them, but they are still partaking in classes and doing well. But to be honest, it’s not our main concern at this time, and I foresee it becoming more of an issue if things worsen for us. Our professors are talking about it and have insisted “our success comes first” to the extent that is true, I’m not sure, but they seem to be thinking of us during this time.
