Utica University - FNP Online Program

Hi My Fellow Nurses,

My name is Letisha, and I live in Brooklyn, NY. I am seeking an online Family NP Program. I know about Frontier, Downstate and Utica College. Does anyone have any reviews about Utica's online FNP program? I know it's a relatively new program. Any info is very much appreciated!

The program is accredited and gives you all the flexibility in the world to work full time but not have to commit to driving to class or having to sit through lectures on campus. I don't know what you mean by is it worth it? if you graduate and pass you boards you will be an FNP just like any other program. Your clinical experience is what you make of it too and the school won't help you with that you are responsible for finding your own.

I heard they are inflexible with late assignment submissions and deadlines and have this simulation program that is not intuitive but required to pass the course.

they still accept late assignments but will deducted points. The IHuman simulation focuses on the patient interview and assessment and is not hard once you get use to it. you only need a 60 % on each simulation to pass and if you mess one up you just need to right a short easy saying what you forgot and how can you do better.  

each similuation is pass/ fail with a pass being 60 %

The simulation count toward your state mandated clinical hours

Exams are done through examity, it’s an online proctor site that watches you test, quizzes are just timed not proctored, normally have a midterm and final.

yes first semester 150 hours with PCP and 75 hours of IHuman simulations for 225 hours. I believes second and third semester are 275 hours. 200 hours of clinical with 75 hours of IHuman. Each simulation counts as 2 hours. You usually do 5 simulations every 2 weeks but they don't take 2 hours to complete

Do I finish in 2 weeks, I also know a few from the class prior, 19 kids all graduated, we have 30 in my class

Hello all

does anyone have the syllabus for NUR 612 and NUR 622?

im going into these classes next and I would like to know what is coming next.

So I already took NUR 612 and I don’t have the syllabus anymore but saved all my stuff from the course. I’m also taking NUR 622 and looking for syllabus to get ahead on reading. I emailed my professor to see if she could get her hands on it. You had any luck? Email me at [email protected] to touch base if you would like. Good luck in the course!
