Sorry I didn't want this post to get mixed up with the other thread haha it's so long.
Anyways wondering if anyone else applied for the Spring 09. Im also wondering if its worth buying the study guide for the TEAS that they are selling and what kind of questions they ask you in the interview.
I'm so nervous because mine is coming up!
-Thanks Duc
Hey! I was a little confused about registration too...I looked it up and Registration for new students is Jan. 7, November is only for ongoing students. Also, with the immunization sheet we have to get filled out, can we go to any health care professional??? I'm just a little confused b/c I have my record but I don't actually have insurance or a doctor right now.
In our letter it says that students will not be able to register without proof of full immunity. Also says registration is Nov 1- Jan 9. As far as immunizations, I don't have an immunization record. Lost somewhere along the way and my doctor moved away years ago. So I had to go get a titer drawn to prove immunity. For anyone else needing a titer, seems like the last time I had this done it took at least a week or two to get the results. I am a little stressed that my results won't come back in time for some reason. Especially since they had a really hard time finding a vein/getting blood and then ended up just having to fill the vials half full.
With respect to transferring electives from another degree, I see it mentioned in the accelerated track info but not in the generic. Not sure if this means that only accelerated can transfer or if anyone with another degree can transfer previous credits.
Has anyone heard anything yet about what to expect the first semester or any tips that are useful?
lily im not sure living so close to school is such a good idea.i would think theres a bunch of noise going on at all time with the sirens and helicopters. i live about 5-8 minutes away from school and work and its not so bad in the mornings. and at nnight my area is pretty quiet.... just a little tip!
I'm also wondering how the first semester of school is going to be like, and does anyone know where we can find the list of books we are going to need? i like buyin em on half.com
i am so excited about starting!!! yay!!!
congrats to everyone !!!!
Thanks Yayalvn, I didn't even think about the noise. Thats a really good point.
I guess I will probably just head in to SA soon and start looking around, I'm worried that alot of places are already pre-leasing around the area.
Also, does anyone know about insurance through the school? I know we are required to have it.
Okay everyone, Here is something to answers MANY questions! Just talked with the registrars office....
First off, if you have a previous degree, those upper division courses do count toward the 9 hrs of electives. You only need 3 nursing hrs. for elective regardless of accelerated or generic.
Secondly, I was told that for everyone registration does start in November, BUT we will not receive that info(such as log-in and steps to take) until our next packet. So basically we can still mail-in the immunization record if you want.
Thirdly, the transcript evals are not up to date yet. So if you took courses in the summer, they will not show completed. They said they will resend the completed evals with the next packet.
P.S. I have officially decided to go the generic route instead of the accelerated, so one of you may be getting an early Christmas present! HAHA
And I'm in too!!! Yay! I have never been more anxious for mail in my life. Talk about a huge relief!
Thanks for getting all that info, Lancer. I really appreciate it. I guess since I am still my 2nd English class (need it for the degree I'm graduating with in Dec too) I wont be able to register until I finish and my grade is posted on my transcript.

I am pretty sure that anyone can transfer electives from previous degrees. I don't understand why they would let accelerated and not regular....we are all getting the same degree. I will call them and ask, because otherwise I am going to be really mad. I have over 155 hours and I have already wasted my time taking a private school core and a public school core.
