UTHSCSA Traditional BSN Application Fall 15

Published

Hey guys!

So the application to start in the Fall of 2015 is due on February 1st. Really, that is right around the corner if you think about it!

Let this thread be dedicated to all hopefuls!

I still have to take the Teas V, but I did buy the study guide with 2 tests so hopefully that helps. My cumulative GPA will be 3.2ish and my pre-req GPA will be close to 4.0. I'm extremely anxious about getting in that is for sure!

I've done everything except the essay questions, but I'll try to knock that out this evening. I went over to the school to ask about the examples and asked a completely different question by mistake. It was about immunizations and if we should go show the clinic our records and see what we needed. Another lady (don't know if it was Brandy Finck?) heard my question and came out, saying to not submit anything except the 2 documents we just received because we don't know if we're accepted yet. She said she would send out a list of stuff we'll need to do once we've gotten our letters.

I think we will hear back sooner. Take a look at the accelerated thread. Their letter said mid Feb and they heard back the end of January.

They posted the stats for traditional BSN Spring 2015:

Cumulative GPA: 3.39

Math/Science GPA: 3.51

TEAS 5.0: 81.1

total enrollment: 133 out of 351 applicants

:sour:

So you think we will hear back by March!

Idk why the pic got cut off, but she said to expect to hear back prior to April 1st

The Spring class has some pretty impressive stats! Those numbers make me nervous!! *insert nervous laugh here* :nailbiting:

I KNOW :( I really hope that my TEAS score saves my GPA :(

Information About Others:

No potentially libelous information about specific schools, instructors, or health care facilities/entities should be posted in these forums. While it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

  1. It is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. Your privacy is paramount to us.

  2. While this site is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. Gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.

  3. Please do not give out personal identifying information about yourself or others. Do not name names where anyone could identify any person in any facility including your nursing programs or place of employment.

*Whew* Ok...after messing with my stupid printer's scanning abilities for an hour, I finally got both parts of the application filled out, signed, paid for, and submitted. I sent them as 2 separate emails, 10 minutes apart, and forgot that they said to try and keep them both in 1 email, so yea, I messed that one up a little, but I got them taken care of. And now I get one less hour of sleep because of the printer -_-*

I got my sup application/questionnaire on monday! I have already completed, paid and emailed my papers to her as the one email!! I am so nervous now! I wish us all the the BEST!! Here's to the waiting game...lol

I'm back! :)

No lie you guys I almost cried when I saw the whole transcript thing, because one of mine has definitely not made it there yet. Someone in a prior thread had told me about the whole postmark leniency, but a friend of mine that is also applying this cycle apparently called UTHSCSA and was told the opposite! Ugh.

It is really scary to me that while the numbers (GPA, TEAS, etc.) seemed to be going up, the applicant acceptance number is going down! I've seen them accept over 150 before, if I remember correctly, even if not by much. But dropping 17 below? Plus they seem to have the same number of applicants each year... Just overall scariness...

I agree! There is a lot less interaction this cycle

but more people may start filing on here once we start hearing back from admissions!

I think you're right! Truthfully, it also may be because of lack of knowing about this site? I found it randomly, and only because I semi-obsessively researched a bunch of things pertaining to nurses, nursing school, etc. Plus, I didn't really get into the site until applying to nursing school this cycle. And I've never heard of any nurses really talking about it? Maybe its like a secret-not-really-secret site thing?
