hello all,
guess i'll get our thread started. i've watched these over the last few semesters, and it's a great way to share information and get to know each other.
i applied earlier this month, and got an e-mail this evening letting me know that i am eligible regarding my prerequisites. i was surprised to get something back so quickly since the deadline is july 1. anyway, that's the first step in the process...a long, long process. :) hopefully, there will be plenty of us on here to keep each other company.
look forward to getting through this process with you.
wow..thanks a lot tori all this information really helped..although im concerned that i did not receive my email and id number..(although i know my id number from the transcript evaluation)..i sent my stuff a day prior to the deadline..to both emails...when i came on here and saw that everyone received their email..i freaked out :-(

I would suggest you call the school. I read that there was a problem with the email and double checking to be sure it was received is never a bad idea. I would also suggest hand carrying any papers that need to be turned in, after keeping a photocopy and /or scanned copy at home. I would continue doing what ever needs to be done until you are positive one way or another that you are still a prospective student. If for some reason, you have been dropped, I would suggest trying to prove you fulfilled the requirements and it was an error on their part that prevented your paperwork from arriving. If you are still considered dropped, you will be that much ahead of the game for the next time. I would suggest you not give up. If you were offered enrollment, it means that you are an excellent candidate for the SON and a glitch should do no more than slow you down temporarily.
I wish you much luck.

Hi Keili
I wouldn't have checked my spam folder. Never would have occurred to me, great idea. Actually, after reading your post, I did check my spam folder and found an email from my chemistry professor saying he would be happy to be a reference for me. So I appreciate your suggestion.
Hi rntob
Glad to hear that your papers were received in time. Didn't want to lose you.

it all depends on what you are referring to.
Background check must be finished by orientation, that includes clearing out any blips that may appear.
Immunizations also by orientation. Including proof of immunity (titers).
Prereq classes also by orientation.
CPR, again, orientation.
Finacial aid and scholarships: October 29th
If you are disabled, a request for accommodations must be made prior to orientation.
The important things to start early are background checks and immunizations.
The suggestion on early background checks are to give you a chance to clear up any blips. If you have an issue, you need to provide additional documentation to resolve it. I do not know what can hold you back. But you will want time to fix it, especially in cases of mistaken ID, which can occur with a common name.
If you have not started your Hep B series, I do not think it can be completed before orientation. You are expected to wait for 1 month between vaccine 1 & 2, and 4-6 mos between vaccine 2 & 3. It is also a 1-2 month wait between the last vaccine and finding out if you are immune with a titer. Assuming it takes 1 week for the lab results, working with the least amount of time between vaccines, the hep b series could not be started later than the end of June/ beginning of July.
Hope that helps
