Anybody applied to the fall 2010 semester? I just received an invite to take the TEAS!
Bluescrubbies & lovely_kanwal4u= Rumor has it that GPA holds a higher value (score) than the TEAS and the written portion (subbed for the interview) so I think you are in decent condition with a GPA like that.
I'm feeling more stressed right now. I just feel that I'm not gonna get in cause of my GPA *3.4*, which I have worked hard to raise since having a bad semester at UT Austin *yikes*. I know I should have studied the TEAS because my GPA is lower but I have a full load of classes this semester, so I got an 87%. The only positive thing I got going is that all my pre-requisites are done and I will have an Associates of Science.
I feel that with your higher GPA ya'll have a higher chance of getting in than I do. But you never know, right. I have had a couple of my former classmates get accepted at with a 3.3 gpa. Fingers Crossed.
Hopefully, we get in. :)
Hey all! I'm stressing too! Hopefully we'll all hear good news.
This is what I've heard from the nursing office:
GPA is 70% of the admissions decision, 25% is your TEAS score, and 5% is your essays.
They do put a lot of weight on GPA, but when I spoke with admissions they said that if you have a lower GPA paired with a high TEAS score, it balances out.
I know they're considering about 200 people for the 120-130 spots available, and they'll have a list of about 50-60 alternates. And last semester they admitted about 30 people from their alternate list!
zx7chelle - did you say you were AF applying for the NECP? I am doing that but I am deployed right now - waiting to hear if I was accepted is painful! I would like to know ASAP so I can complete my NECP package and get that in? Did you do the Form 48 yet?
Hi Fadedflower,Yes, AF and NECP. I havent done my AF form 48 yet. I think the school has to sign it; I figured no point doing all that work if I dont get in...right? Deployed? Ughhh. That has to be tough. Can I help with anything?
Has anyone received an email yet, today?
Edit: Never mind! This was posted on their facebook page:
UTHSCSA School of Nursing has made the final admission decisions for the FA10 Traditional BSN program. Letters go out today. Look for your notification in the MAIL this week.

Hey Flower, I am deployed right now too and am also applying for NECP. I turned in my application back in December prior to leaving sans the admission letter I just got and my most recent EPR. But, if there is anything you need help with, let me know. I would be more than happy to help.
MH
p.s. Where are you deployed to?
