Anyone applying for the accelerated program?

e ham.. did u receive a transcript evaluation saying you were eligible?

After couple weeks research, found out what happened. UTHSCSA received one of my transcripts from an out of state college 2 days after the cutoff date. This made my application incomplete and not considered :crying2: Even worse, I only attended that college for one class :mad:

Still waiting on final word on UIW, all transcripts have been received, HESI A2 complete with mid to high 90's, and will be going to L1 for fingerprinting next week. Hopefully final word by Apr 9th

wow, i cant believe they didn't take it. I mean the postdate must of been days before. I hope you get good news from UIW. :)

They use the extremely strict criteria and deadlines as one tool to help weed out some of the applicants. If you have 400 applicants and only 320 meet the criteria on the deadline, then its 80 fewer applications you have to process.

Good news is I'm one of the final 74 in UIW's process. I go for fingerprinting on thursday. The final cut to 50 should be the first week of April

Hi everyone!

I was accepted into the University of Alaska nursing program, but my fiance is in the military and it is quite likely we'll be in San Antonio before I get to start my program (May 2011). Can anyone tell me if there is a waiting period for UTHSCSA and if so, how long? Thanks in advance!

There are only 2 application periods for nursing school (fall and spring) and we just finished the application period for this fall '10. The next application period for the generic program is for the spring '11. The deadline is July 1, 2010.

Hello everyone,

I am on a leave of absence from the nursing program. I started this semester fulltime but had a personal issue to attend to and since this semester is the last "old" curriculum they did not allow part-time status. So, I will be starting back with the class of May 2012 BSN. One good thing about this class is the new and improved curriculum that will be implemented this August. This will mean no summer school for extra hours and a revision to attend to the ever enhancing medical technology. I have been through all the processes and steps towards acceptance and entrance into the Generic BSN program. Let me warn you that this will be a challange to not only be accepted but also to meet the critera for entrance. There will be immunization records, finger prints, and background checks after acceptance into the program. All must be complete in a timely manner to register for classes and attend orientation. But on the bright side............. This is the best nursing school with the greatest nursing professors. The instructors and professors are very helpful and are goal-orientated for enhancing every students education and nursing future. Everybody is extremely gracious and has a postive outlook. I am very excited to return this fall and begin the process to reaching my dream. With that, if anyone has questions please don't hesitate to ask and I will be more than happy to help.

NBLVN2RN, thanks for the info and encouraging words. I have a question though. You said no summer school? So you mean that summer school is not offered, or that we don't HAVE to attend? The reason I ask is I am applying under a US Air Force scholarship and one stipulation is that I must take 6 credits hours during the summer. Am I going to be able to do that at UTHSC?Thank you!
