Anybody applied to the fall 2010 semester? I just received an invite to take the TEAS!
Aloha all.
I live in Hawaii, so I had to take the TEAS early, cuz they only offer it 2 times a year. And I called UTHSC and got the story on the process:
First you should receive an email inviting you to take the TEAS. I beleive that those went out last week. It was a mass email.
After the closeout date for all the TEAS tests they will rack and stack the applicants. If you make the cutoff you should get notification to start this fall. (I believe this will be by email too).
I would check to make sure your email is correct... :)
Good luck on your TEAS!
I don't quite understand the process.. Does anyone know? I thought all those who have been invited to take the TEAS are the students they are highly considering or are they letting everyone who met the minimum requirements take the test? Also, in the letter along with the transcript evaluation, they said something about a communication assessment after the TEAS.... Does anyone know anything about that?
HI cmonroe86,
this is what I know... an intial cut is made from all eligible applicants based on GPA. There were 500+ applicants, not all were eligible, so not sure what the pool of applicants was after those were weeded out.
They chose a GPA cut-off and those are the people they invited to take the TEAS. After the TEAS scores are in, those applicants will be ranked based on GPA, TEAS, and essay questions.
I beleive they did away with formal interviews circa fall 2009, and instead use the essay questions. This is likely the communication portion you mentioned.
I got this information on the phone from an advisor in the nursing department. If anyone has any other information, PLEASE SHARE!
I don't believe they invite all 400 to take the TEAS. I was reading throught the Spring 2010 threads and they were saying they invited about 200 to take the test and after that they chose the 120 students out of the 200 after reviewing test scores, gpa, and essays. I don't know if it's the same this semester.

There are testing sites in Houston, according to the ATI website. I'm thinking about testing in Houston because all of the tests in San Antonio are when I'm at work.
Yep, that's me. I'm applying to UTSA, UT Houston, and Texas A&M.
