UTHSC Traditional BSN Fall 2016 Applicants

Hello everyone:D

I have seen various threads for previous applicants that applied to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I was not able to find a thread for UTHSC Fall 2016 applicants so I decided to start one. If a thread already exists, I am sorry. I will also be applying to TWU-Houston and UTMB. I know the process is stressful, so I will try to make it easier. I will be attending the May 22 info session at UT and the May 28 one at TWU. I will be sure to update any information discussed in the sessions for those who are not able to attend. If there are any previous applicants, or current and previous students, I would appreciate if you could join and share your experience in the school as well as your application process.

I believe in an earlier post, you mentioned that you had already submitted your application for UT. Since you still had not taken the Hesi, did you leave that section blank in the application?

I knew what date I was going to take it when I applied, but I don't think leaving it blank will be an issue. As long as you take it by the deadline you should be good to go. I would double check with the registrar office though.

Yeah I just checked my application and it said its fine, just as long as you submit your scores after the exam. Where are you taking your classes?

Has anyone applied to the program? I'm not sure what "Proof of TSI Satisfaction" means...do we have to send our sat/act/taks scores??

I just finished talking with the Registrars office, and they told me that once you submit your transcripts then it should be removed.

Hi everyone! I plan on applying for the fall 2016 semester. I also applied for summer 2016. Do I need to send all my information again? Transcripts, Hesi, etc.?

Nope! You just have to send everything once if both applications are still open, which they are right now.

I'm currently finishing my last prerequisite classes for the nursing program at LSC-Kingwood. I was wondering what classes and how do I calculate my Science GPA? I started studying for the HESI and I'm scared deathless! I would be completely done with my classes after the Spring semester, that's why I feel that the Fall 2016 is the best time to apply to the program. Any recommendations?

I believe the science GPA consists of your Anatomy 1&2, Chemistry, Microbiology courses. So just calculate your gpa to those courses! Also, good luck on the HESI! I took mine earlier this summer. You'll do great :). I'm also taking courses for the spring but I applied to both the summer and fall semesters.
