UTHSC Traditional BSN Fall 2016 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Hello everyone:D

I have seen various threads for previous applicants that applied to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I was not able to find a thread for UTHSC Fall 2016 applicants so I decided to start one. If a thread already exists, I am sorry. I will also be applying to TWU-Houston and UTMB. I know the process is stressful, so I will try to make it easier. I will be attending the May 22 info session at UT and the May 28 one at TWU. I will be sure to update any information discussed in the sessions for those who are not able to attend. If there are any previous applicants, or current and previous students, I would appreciate if you could join and share your experience in the school as well as your application process.

I look forward to talking to everyone who is going through this nursing journey.:)

The AP section was a bit more in depth than the other sections. I was able to make an A on that section with my AP 1 class and Biology 1 class. Bio isn't a prerequisite but I took it for another major at the time. I have yet to take AP 2, but it is very doable with just AP 1.

That is great :D Besides the Hesi review book, what other materials did you use to help you study?

I used the Cliff notes review for AP just to brush up on AP. I also have been taking online exams that are free. Other than that, that's all I've been studying for the HESI.:bookworm:

The hard work payed off;) Do you plan on applying to any other schools?

Definitely!! And no, I'm only applying to this school. Are you applying to other schools??

I'm planning on applying to uthsc for the fall! I'm currently in A&P 1 and will be taking A&P 2 and micro in the fall! I've been studying for the Hesi and will be taking it soon. Good luck to all!

I am also applying to TWU and UTMB for their honors program. Ut Houston is my top choice, but just in case I need a back up.

That's awesome! I'm just putting all my effort to uthsc houston this time around, but if I can't get in after a few attempts I'll apply elsewhere.

Hopefully we get in on the first try:up: The good thing about the program is that its shorter compared to the other nursing programs. What is your priority if you get in for both summer and fall?

Best of luck to us! It is shorter, and we get more clinical experience than other programs from what I hear. :D But that just means we'll have to be on top of our studies haha:writing: I would get into the summer program if I was accepted to both. The sooner the better! What about you?

I am applying only to the Fall 2016 cohort. I was actually planning a trip to South Korea for next summer. Hopefully you can give me any tips, or just a heads up on what to expect for the first semester:bookworm: If you start in the summer of next year. Do you know anyone currently in the program?

Awesome! I'm actually South Korean  I will when I make it! I don't but I know someone who has gone through the program a few years back. I'm not sure how similar the programs are though from back then and now
