I have seen various threads for previous applicants that applied to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I was not able to find a thread for UTHSC Fall 2016 applicants so I decided to start one. If a thread already exists, I am sorry. I will also be applying to TWU-Houston and UTMB. I know the process is stressful, so I will try to make it easier. I will be attending the May 22 info session at UT and the May 28 one at TWU. I will be sure to update any information discussed in the sessions for those who are not able to attend. If there are any previous applicants, or current and previous students, I would appreciate if you could join and share your experience in the school as well as your application process.

I called the registrar about a transcript evaluation and she said she'd prepare one for me and send it out today. A little uneasy because she mentioned the nursing school usually sends a list of students for review and acceptance and they send based off that? I'm a little confused and even more nervous.

Going off of what Briananelle just said. I called just now and she was like when they accept they'll send out the evaluations to the accepted. So if you were accepted an evaluation would come along with it. She was like I think they're still on summer. ??? But I was like what if haven't received one the whole time and there's others who have received multiple! And she like we don't deal with that aspect of the admissions, saying they basically had no control over it. She ended the call saying that she would prepare an evaluation and send it to the SON.
It was weird because I started my call saying ' I know acceptances should come out in the next week or so but I still have not received an eval' She said you were accepted??? Thinking that they had already sent out an acceptance letter
Wow, that's really unsettling. I did receive a transcript eval a few weeks ago, so I am no longer waiting on that. But regardless, the information the staff gives out to applicants should be consistent. The information you two ladies were given today, is nothing like the information I received in February regarding the evaluations when I was still making requests for mine. I was basically told, some applicants get them, some don't, it depends on whose desk it's on...
@melissacastro I'm assuming students under review for acceptance.
@lakemitc She said the same thing to me! "Were you accepted?" So, did they go out already?! It's nerve-wracking that there is no consistent answer.
Im just going to take it as her thinking that they already sent out acceptances without her knowing. And she was just making sure they hadn't lol
At this point I don't know what to think, you can't really rely on old threads anymore because it seems like trying to figure out what's going through the admissions' heads is a bit more complicated than previous years.
Rn, I'm just hoping for the best while still being a realist I've already started looking at TWU to get everything because you have to apply 6 weeks before the deadline and that's like what July ? Sheesh so much lol

Hi everyone. I saw I had a letter in the mail from UTHealth today, and my heart started racing a million miles per hour. It was just my transcript evaluation. The date on the stamp says April 1st, so I believe they are still in the process of sending those out to people. Turns out they didn't accept my Intro to Sociology course, although I took it already (correct course number and everything). Did anyone that has received an evaluation have a similar problem?

I'm taking that and some philosophy course if they don't accept it I'll be pissed lol
But I read on thread awhile back some kid got multiple evaluations because they kept getting his courses wrong or updating them.
i feel like they're going to send you another especially since it's the exact course required!
