UTHSC Traditional BSN Fall 2016 Applicants

Published

Hello everyone:D

I have seen various threads for previous applicants that applied to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I was not able to find a thread for UTHSC Fall 2016 applicants so I decided to start one. If a thread already exists, I am sorry. I will also be applying to TWU-Houston and UTMB. I know the process is stressful, so I will try to make it easier. I will be attending the May 22 info session at UT and the May 28 one at TWU. I will be sure to update any information discussed in the sessions for those who are not able to attend. If there are any previous applicants, or current and previous students, I would appreciate if you could join and share your experience in the school as well as your application process.

I look forward to talking to everyone who is going through this nursing journey.:)

At this point I feel like it's too late for me to see because something tells me we're finding out next week so I may as well wait it out!

fingers crossed!

Ladies, for those of you who still are not CPR certified, the Junior League of Houston provides free CPR certification. Currently there are two classes open; one on 5/2/2016 and one on 5/4/2016. I'll leave the link here. CPR Training Classes Try to enroll asap, as these free classes fill out soon.:cat:

Thanks for the replies! It's so crazy that they take so long!

I tried calling again today a finally got an answer. She said she's going to send an email to the registars office and it'll take 2-3 weeks from there.

lol we find out in two weeks í ½í¸‚

I wish they would just tell us!! UTMB has released decisions already and so has TWU, but UT-H is still my top choice!!!

I feel you. TWU was so organized and timely. Literally, six weeks to the day from the application deadline, and they sent acceptance letters out.

I'm going to apply to TWU for spring the Teas scares me though! How did you guys do on it ??

TEAS is only more difficult in that you do not get to use a calculator, and each sectioned is timed. I was super hesitant to take it too, but it was fine! I just did not want to limit my options for Fall.

Thank you ! What book would you recommend?

The study guide by ATI! Personally, I felt it was more difficult than the HESI, but still ended up doing pretty well, with minimal study time.

Yes, I used the ATI study guide, the McGraw Hill TEAS 5 practice tests, and both online practice exams that ATI also offers. I made sure to practice the sections timed exactly like the exam. To me that is what made it more difficult, the subjects are the same as the HESI. Hopefully, you won't need to take it! =) Good luck dust to everyone!

The anticipation is killing me... I hope this week is the week!

I don't know if I can hold on another 11 days :dead:
