UTHSC Traditional BSN Fall 2016 Applicants

Published

Hello everyone:D

I have seen various threads for previous applicants that applied to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I was not able to find a thread for UTHSC Fall 2016 applicants so I decided to start one. If a thread already exists, I am sorry. I will also be applying to TWU-Houston and UTMB. I know the process is stressful, so I will try to make it easier. I will be attending the May 22 info session at UT and the May 28 one at TWU. I will be sure to update any information discussed in the sessions for those who are not able to attend. If there are any previous applicants, or current and previous students, I would appreciate if you could join and share your experience in the school as well as your application process.

I look forward to talking to everyone who is going through this nursing journey.:)

I've received two transcript evaluations but they have been through the mail. Do y'all think it matters or is it the same thing? I think I will have to call them about that tomorrow.

@lakemitc thank you so much for the response. Hopefully you and everyone else gets theirs soon enough. The eval says it was printed on 3/29, and it reached the post office by 4/1. They're still getting to some people's, I just have a feeling!

@melissacastro Maybe one transcript is a corrected version? I'm not sure why they'd send you two, but I'm guessing it's because they're different in some way.

I really hope so.... [emoji45]

Maybe today will be the day guys ......[emoji85]

I hope we get news soon! I'm dying here :drowning:

Ok guys, I had emailed the admissions office on March 31st about not receiving a transcript evaluation. Kathryn Hundemer emailed me back saying that they do evaluations at the school's request and that they didn't request one for me (not sure if that's good or bad but doesn't give me a good feeling for some reason). She has emailed and called me before, so maybe she's assigned to my application? Either way, just wanted to share with y'all what I was told.

Turns out they didn't accept my Intro to Sociology course, although I took it already (correct course number and everything). Did anyone that has received an evaluation have a similar problem?

I have a similar issue with an American Government course, but mine is from out-of-state. Talked w/ the Registrar's Office this am and apparently they are not satisfied with the course description. I have to contact my previous college to try to get a course syllabus that outlines everything they are required to cover in that course... if that doesn't cut it I'll have to retake it during the summer if I'm accepted for Fall. Ugh!:banghead: Sounds like you took yours here though, so I would think maybe it was just accidentally overlooked. I'd call the Registrar's office or email admissions and see if they can fix it for you.

So thankful we all have this forum to get through this together. Hopefully today is the day!!

Not a good feeling for me either. It's like they're just like nah we don't need them lol I hope it's a good thing though

I also had to retake American government here. It was something about how the constitution wasn't covered in my previous course, which was also taken out of state. I just retook it online and it was very simple.

As far as transcript evaluations, I have, so far, applied for Spring 2016, summer and fall and only received one for spring. I never got an acceptance for spring, so I don't think that it means an acceptance for those who receive them and a denial for those who don't. Hopefully it really just has to do with whoever is dealing with that person's application. It's crazy how we are all sitting here racking our brains trying to solve this mysterious puzzle!! I'm guilty of it as well :(

Anyways, hopefully we all hear something soon because I know we're all going crazy over here! Good luck to everyone!

I just called too. They said they have over 900 applicants and are getting to evaluations slowly, but plan to send out acceptance or rejection on April 15th. I said, "That is a week and a half away ..." I sent my application in October 2015, and have had a green circle ever since. In my opinion what can there be done in a week and a half? Weirdness. It's especially hard because I drive by the school everyday! Ha. At this point, I have done everything I can, so I am going to go drink some cucumber/lemon water and enjoy this beautiful day. Giving the anticipation to the Universe.

Yep, the course description didn't explicitly state "US Constitution". Thankfully, I was able to contact my previous school in WA state to get a course syllabus for my course and it does state the study of the US Constitution several times over. Just sent it to the Registrar... keeping my fingers crossed!!

Exactly. I kinda halfway wanna undo my bookmark on this thread so I forget I even applied for a week and a half but I can't help it! Every time I get a notification I'm hoping its someone sharing good news!
