UTHSC Summer 2015 Application

Published

I know it's early, but I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning to apply to UTHSC for the Summer 2015 session. I am hoping to go the Pacesetter route. I currently have a degree in Communications and I'm finally able to change careers and follow my dream. I'm a high-school teacher that will be resigning in June when the school year ends. I have a lot of prereqs already taken, but have a few to go, as well. I'm currently taking Intro to Pscyh online, will take Lifespan in May, and Intro to Soci and and A&P I & II over the summer.

If you are applying to start in this summer session too, please join in the discussion! We'll need to lean on each other as we go through this tough (but wonderful) process!

Anyone else out there?

Good Luck in advance!

Ok just making sure! This is my 2nd time taking it. I got like an 84 on the A&P the first time and i studied the study guide book and also reviewed my notes that i took in my anatomy classes. Also quizlet is good to review terms. I have the 3rd edition study guide now. Have you submitted your application yet? .

Yes I've been studying from the study guide as well but I feel like is just too basic and my notes are way too in depth but that's what I've been studying from. Yes I submitted my application already and my transcript. Only thing is the HESI score that I need to send out

The A&P section was actually not as hard as i was expecting it to be the first time i took it. The questions were not that in depth, mostly basic ones about the body . I'm not sure about the 2nd time though, I'm worried it'll be harder.

Just introducing myself! I have just started the application process and have to take my HESI and send a transcript in. About how long did it take to get an email from UT with a login? They have only emailed me saying they've received my application fee.

For me it only took 1 day for them to send both login ID and password :)

Thanks for the reply!

Does anyone know if we can apply to both the Summer and the Fall semester?

I'm pretty sure you can apply to both. I'm considering applying to fall also.

I originally applied for spring but will also be going for summer. I need to retake my HESI to get higher score in a section or two which I got a 82 in reading and a 76 in A&P, all other sections were 90+. I heard that for UT you have to retake the whole exam and you can't just retake sections, is this true? I'm so afraid to retake and get lower scores.

Hey everyone,

Has anyone taken Version 2 of the Hesi? How is it in comparison to Version 1? I'm really concerned about vocab and a&p. Thanks ahead of time for your response.

Hey MissKal,

I'm in the same situation as you. I applied for the spring but was unsuccessful with vocab. I missed it by 1 question. I did very well in A&P though. It was actually my highest score, 96. We do have to take the entire test over. :( We must take all 5 subjects over again (vocab, reading, grammar, math, anatomy and CT). Anyway, I will send you a private message, so we can exchange #'s. I can definitely help you with the A&P and maybe you can help me with the vocab. When do you plan on taking the test again? Talk to you soon.

I called and asked that question as well. The lady I spoke to told me that as long as it was taken before December 1st than it would be fine.
