Hey guys, just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON hopefuls who are applying for Spring 2016. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin to play what seems to be the longest waiting game ever! I am more than confident that each and every one of us will be receiving our acceptance letters around this same time next year:) Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!
I've applied to both summer and fall as well and have not heard anything. I was expecting to hear back around March based on previous discussion boards.
also, has anyone else not received a transcript eval?? I have not received anything from them, and I have called twice to ask about it and the lady I have talked to wasn't very friendly. She was very brash and just gave me the automated "we're working on it."
Im kind of scared that I haven't received an evaluation because I have heard horror stories of people not recieving theirs until late in the admission process and they find numerous screw ups (which could have been avoided if they received it earlier), but they were denied admission due to mistakes on transcripts.
Hey guys just wanted to give you an update on what our schedule looks like now that we have started the program:
Monday - Health Assessment Lecture (8-9) however you will be assigned either a 9:15 or 11:15 lab time following class that will last 2 hours.
Tuesday - Adult Health Care I Lecture 1 (8-12). Care Lab will follow immediately after class from 1-4; however, you will be watching videos related to your lab that day from 12-1. Food is permitted during this time so this is also your "lunch break."
**This lab will only last until clinical's start about 6 weeks into the program.
Wednesday - Pharmacotherapeutics (9-12) and Pathophysiology (1-4)
Clinical Information: Clinicals begin mid February. You will be assigned a clinical either Thursday, Friday, or Saturday lasting from 6:30 am - 4:30 pm. No night shifts during this semester. You do have about a 24 hour grace period to switch your clinical assignment (for whatever reason) as long as you find a classmate that is also willing to swap. Best of luck!
No, I only applied for summer and fall 2016, but I had all my documents in before the end of October. I received my course eval in late Nov. I don't know how their selection process goes, but here are my stats for anyone if they are interested.
HESI Avg: 96
Science GPA: 3.86
Cumulative GPA: 3.44
I am also a Post Bacc student if that helps anyone.
I took all my prereqs at U of H and HBU
I didn't have to write a personal statement for summer but I did for my application in fall.
Also anyone who gets on the waitlist for the Fall 2016 start will know I will decline my spot for that so that's some good news for those folks.
