We have not started. Our start date is 1/11/16

Hello everyone,

I am applying to UTHSC for summer 2016. I would like to know how the meeting times for classes are organized. I'm trying to plan ahead if I'm accepted (my scores and grades are great, so I'm hoping!) Specifically, will I be in class everyday of the week? On the days that I am in class, will it be all day? I know schedules change a lot and your schedule will be different from what mine may be - but I'll be working the first two weeks that classes meet. I have sick days to use and will use them for the days we are in class, I just need to know how many I have to save (potentially up to 10). I'm changing careers from teaching to nursing. I'll be retiring from the classroom at the end of this school year and want to spend my saved days so that in the end, I won't have any left in the bank.

Thanks!

I would really appreciate this information too. Are you in class every day of the week?

Hey guys so we haven't actually started yet but we will start the second week of January. Based on what we have been told and our current schedules we will be in class 3 days a week and once we begin clinicals (late February) we could have them either Thursday or Friday (maybe even Saturday? Not 100% sure) depending on what day we are assigned. Those will be from 6:30 am - 4:30 pm. Yay for 10 hr. Clinicals😊

So our schedule looks a little like this:

Monday - Health Assessment Lecture (8-9) however we will get assigned a lab time in addition that will last 3 hrs. And that can range anywhere from (9:30-1:30) again, depending on what time you are assigned.

Tuesday - Adult Health Care I Lecture 1 (8-12).

**Some upperclassmen have mentioned that there is a Lab component from 12-4 however, once clinicals begin it will only be from 8-12 as the lab was meant to prepare us for clinicals. This isn't on our schedules so I'm not sure if it will be added on later? Or if our schedules have changed?

Wednesday - Pharmacology (9-12) and Pathophysiology (1-4)

Like I said, we haven't started yet so this information may or may not be totally correct. You may want to check back for a thread or facebook group to the previous year of the semester of which you are applying to. I know in my case, I found a lot of helpful tips from the Spring 2014 page. Good luck guys!

Hi Briananelle,

I am also applying for the fall 2016 period and have a quick question you or any other students applying for that period: did you submit an essay for the pacesetter program?

I thought I had submitted everything until I noticed the page linked below that says part of the things that will be considered are an essay and an interview. I looked everywhere and i cant find any other mention of the essay or any parameters for it.

BSN Admission Criteria:

https://nursing.uth.edu/prospstudent/criteria-bsn.htm

They took away the essay and interview portion of the application back in 2010 I believe due to too many applicants.
