Students applying to SHSU Spring 2016 Nursing Program
I think there is a big chance I might end up in the same position you were in. Which university did you end up choosing? and why? I don't know to what extend the name of the university will matter after graduation but I tend to feel like since TWU is so highly regarded I SHOULD go there if I have the chance. Sam (woodlands) just feels so much more comfortable because of the shorter commute, but their program is so young still that I don't think it has the same recognition as the TWU program.

Thanks so much for your response. I'm glad that's the case because the deadline is coming fast :)- UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016
Hi Briananelle, I am also applying for the fall 2016 period and have a quick question you or any other students applying for that period: did you submit an essay for the pacesetter program? I thought I had submitted everything until I noticed the page linked below that says part of the things that will be considered are an essay and an interview. I looked everywhere and i cant find any other mention of the essay or any parameters for it. I know it's been a long time but I figured I would give you all an update. I finished algebra, statistics and chemistry (not the same semester). Made an A on each of them. I have started the application processes and I am getting ready to take the TEAS exam this week. It's funny now when I look back just how scared I was at the time of the original post. I'm glad I got it over with. Just have to keep reminding myself It too shall pass :).- How old is too old for an Algebra class
Thanks for all your replies. I did call Texas Women and and UTH. It's just that years of experience with different schools has taught me to take what they say with a grain of salt. Their offices tell you one thing and then when you actually execute they say something different. some times I really wonder about the people they have working for them. That's why I'm trying to cover my basis and I'm leaning more and more towards taking that algebra after all. I'm actually leaning towards taking the math just to make sure there are no surprises at the end.- How old is too old for an Algebra class
(You do need to brush up on your math/algebra before you do statistics. You are concerned about your GPA. Don't risk the statistics grade later.) that is a very good point!- How old is too old for an Algebra class
Definitely not lack of trying. I work hard in everything I do. It was very difficult for me to get a C the first time around. It worries me not because I want to work less, but because I would hate it if it lowers my GPA and it turns out I didn't need to retake it. I would gladly take an extra biology or chemistry instead. the other reason I thought I would be fine is (and I don't know this for sure) I've heard that there is not a lot of algebra in statistics. God I hope that's true.- How old is too old for an Algebra class
Thanks for sharing. It sounds like you have no issues with Algebra or math in general. I wish I was more like that. I think my body just naturally rejects it lol. I have done accounting and chemistry courses with no trouble (granted it is not the same type of math). Throw Algebra in the mix and just puts me in a very negative mind set for some reason. It always has.- How old is too old for an Algebra class
Hi everyone, I'm going to school for the second time. This time to become a nurse of course. I have a college algebra class from 2004 and my question is how old is too old to count? should I retake it? I hesitate because A) I hate algebra B) I'm afraid of getting a C and dyluting my GPA. My sciences are all A's so far. C) I don't have a lot of room to play with as far as time goes. I want to apply to UTW and TWU next spring and I know they want you to have Statistics before you apply. At this point because of my old algebra I am allowed to go straight to statistics but I fear that once I try to transfer they may not like how old my Algebra is. Does anyone have experience with this? - UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016
