Hey guys, just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON hopefuls who are applying for Spring 2016. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin to play what seems to be the longest waiting game ever! I am more than confident that each and every one of us will be receiving our acceptance letters around this same time next year:) Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

For unfortunate reasons, I had to decline my acceptance. Hardest thing ever. But not giving up! Sharing this to lift and give hope to those that are on the waitlist!! Good luck to you all!

Hey guys, I have been waitlisted as well and want to apply for the Summer 2016 session. Can y'all clarify if we get accepted into the Summer session if we actually have to start taking the classes in the summer or do we start in the fall?

Yes, you will start in the summer if you are accepted for Summer 2016.

So in the event anyone else out there is waiting like I am to hear ANYTHING, I have just called the admissions office and they have stated that by next Monday we should be able to check our myUTH to find out whether or not we have been accepted, rejected, or waitlisted. The deadline to apply for Summer 2016 is December 1st and the only thing we should need to do is fill out a new application with application fee as long as they have all your materials from you submitting your application for Spring 2016.

Just curious if this thread is for UTHealth in Houston or San Antonio?

I just applied for Summer 2016 in Houston and at the info session last month they stressed many times that UTHealth Houston does NOT and never has had a waitlist for admission.

I'm seeing on here that a lot of people are waitlisted so I wasn't sure if they finally just started using waitlists or if this is for UTHSC in SA.

This is for UThealth in Houston. I haven't heard of them not doing a wait list. To my knowledge it has been around for years, that is strange that they would have stressed that at an info. Session. Which one did you attend?

Yes I was there as well and they did say there was no waiting list, so you can imagine my surprise when I found out I was waitlisted... But I'm not complaining.. I am happy that I am at least being considered.. To all that are waiting I hope and pray that we get accepted to spring or summer!!!

That is so strange because they have definitely used a waitlist for many semesters now. Sometimes their relay of information is very confusing. Same goes for when you call by phone, different people give different answers and it is sometimes very misleading. Sending positive vibes out to everyone!
