Hey everyone!
I couldn't find a thread for Summer 2016 that was active so I'm starting one here! I am also an applicant for Fall 2016 but I'm applying for both because the deadlines are close and I really want to go here!!
So far I'm taking courses over the summer right now and going to finish my prerequisites this fall. I JUST finished the HESI exam today!!! Hope to hear from all of you soon
I looked at the facebook group because I was curious to see how many were in it. There's already almost 70, which means there's only about 50 spots left if they have really all been admitted.
Most people in the FB group are my classmates or J2 etc. don't pay attention to the number of people on FB!!!!
I will not lie: the suspense is killing me lol! Every time I saw a red dot on my iPhone email icon I got excited today just to be let down by random emails...maybe tomorrow
When I got my email it was after "office hours" pretty much (between 5:30-6pm). Hang in there. It'll probably come when you least expect it :)
Yea, I figured it would be during more normal office hours. I'm staying as positive as I can and doing everything possible to keep my mind preoccupied in the meantime (to spare my poor phone's battery lol!). Thank goodness for the gym, school, a super playful 19-month-old boy, and a supportive husband!
I was wondering the same thing. I've pretty much given up hope. I am not certain how UTHSC-H can get away with such a random system of accepting applicants into their program. EVERY other school that I have looked at, in some way, makes it somewhat transparent about what is needed to get into their program. You need certain grades, test scores, etc. and the applicant is then put onto a "point system" and evaluated. If there was some isolated factor that cast an applicant out of the pool even though their score (the application grade that UTHSC-H secretly assigns to people) was decent, then those factors are stated as well. UTHSC-H makes it a very well kept secret about how their applicants are evaluated. I mean, how can they feasibly allow some applicants with lower scores and grades in and keep others on a waiting list or totally ignore other higher scoring applicants? Its really unfair and borders on unethical. Even if I do get accepted, I will still say this because there must be at least one more applicant out there that deserves a spot more than I do. I can't believe that they look ONLY at the factors (nursing pre-req, science pre-req, and HESI scores) which are stated on their webpage. I think they look beyond that...such as undergraduate GPA (not related to the pre-reqs stated previously, your age (which can be calculated fairly quickly since I believe we had to put in our high school graduation date in our application), sex, etc.). While I know I'm making these flagrant statements that are unsupported, I can't figure out any other reason why some people with lower scores and grades are taken before others. I'm also debating on that, if the school runs on this standard, then are they as good as everyone thinks they are? Seems very shady to me.
I've talked to multiple people who are in the program or have graduated and each of them would tell me that admission is mostly just a game of chance (or something along those lines). They probably get so many applicants that they only really look at a fraction of them and then if those meet the minimum requirements then they're in haha. Does anyone know if there is a max amount of times you can apply? Not that I am extremely doubtful I will get in, but it's good to know just in case! I know I should have a plan B and C and etc, but HBU and Chamberlain are just so expensive and well I'm still considering TWU, but I really don't want to take the TEAS! I haven't taken Physics in 7 years and even then I was terrible at it!

Hi everyone! I applied to both summer and fall, but still haven't heard anything yet. I was on the waiting list for spring, but I never got approved. Hopefully we all get in. Congrats to everyone who got accepted!
