This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)
I'm applying with the following stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.21
Science GPA: 3.66
Overall GPA: 2.81
I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)
Good luck to everyone!!
Ready, I know you are being bombarded with question, but my question is do you have all prerequisites complete? I am still working on chemistry this semester, so if I get an acceptance it will be provisional. I am wondering if they are updating first those who have completed everything.
I am actually currently taking 4 pre-reqs!! I am in Microbiology, AP2, Lifespan Development, and Ethics! I already have a Bachelor's degree, but I'm not sure if that made any difference.
I would be checking your holds on UTLink instead of your admissions status since the holds updated on my account first, and in previous threads it looks like their holds changed at least a day before their admissions status did!
My holds are updated!! Criminal background check, Admission documents, and Residency Form Hold were all added. Official status still shows as pending. Good luck everyone!!
nursing pre-reqs GPA: 3.45
Science GPA: 4.00
Undergrad GPA: 3.05 (With a B.A. in Criminal Justice)
HESI: 94(ish) I don't remember exactly. I know I made better than 90% in all subjects though.
I'm currently taking a pretty heavy load. Chem, Stats, Micro, English Comp 1, Into to Sociology, so I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter how many hours you have left, so long as they are completed before you start at UTHSC.
I did work full time during college, as a correctional officer in Hunstville, TX of all things. I'm not sure if that played a role, or if they even noticed on my application that the work history overlapped with school. I would venture to guess that it made some difference, but again, who knows. Also was in the army for 5 years. Again, not sure if that plays a role, but I would think to some degree it does.
OK, now for a celebratory beer. Is 10 am too early for that?
@ OUTERSIM, thats hilarious. I'll be waiting a while too. Mine starts with a 'S.' @ dnbreeding, Congrats!!!! I worked as a correctional officer for almost 10 years. I was thinking about going back but I got my acceptance for TWU two days ago. Still waiting on UTHouston but I will most likely go to TWU.
