This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)
I'm applying with the following stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.21
Science GPA: 3.66
Overall GPA: 2.81
I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)
My last name starts with an A... so maybe it is alphabetical. Or maybe its still random? I have no idea, I don't even know if getting additional holds is significant? Does anyone know?
Yes very much so. Other than previous post the it councillor said that comes up then acceptance
OH NO I'M FREAKING OUT!!!!! What does this holds stuff mean? I thought we weren't supposed to turn in immunizations and CPR until after we were accepted! I'm almost done with my shots but I haven't set anything into the school. What does this mean that the status of those things has changed? I'm confused and freaking out!!!! PLEASE HELP SOMEONE.
Also - taylor - great to hear about the successful surgery. I'm sure it is nice to have one less thing to worry about :)
The CPR and the immunization hold is on there for everyone and yes you can turn them in after you get accepted. If you get in then there will be some new holds such as background check and a couple of others so that is what everyone is checking for.....if you have more than the 2 original holds then you have been admitted. At least that is what it has meant from the past. Nothing on mine yet!!! This is going to be a crazy day!!!!
oh dang.. I checked my holds this morning.. nothing changed.. and now I have to go to school and wont be able to check all day!! congrats ready, and I'm glad your dad is doing good taylor!

now or never THANK YOU!!!! I was pretty sure that UT didn't want that stuff until we had been accepted but then I suddenly started freaking out thinking that I was wrong and now I wasn't going to get in because I hadn't sent that stuff in. It is 7:57 and I've already freaked out and cried this morning... my husband is a lucky man. LOL!!!!!

I am trying to find out what to expect for when I apply for next fall. Especially since interviews are out now... Did you get an interview? I am not sure when they have chosen to officially start that...... Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance :)
encephalon7 - I knew that the interviews were over Wished that they weren't or that they at least had a student statement, but I have pretty good scores. Thanks for that info. Just curious what the scores/GPA of those who are getting accepted. Trying to determine the true level of what is competitive when they base off of just their basic application.
Ready, I know you are being bombarded with question, but my question is do you have all prerequisites complete? I am still working on chemistry this semester, so if I get an acceptance it will be provisional. I am wondering if they are updating first those who have completed everything.
My guess, based off of what I have read through previous years threads, is that the holds can update anytime through out the day, but if you look at the admissions page it says that it only updates daily. That might be why Ready's holds updated yesterday and the admissions page updated today.
You got me checing my ut link every hour now. As of a couple of minutes ago no new holds.

My GPA and HESI details are in a previous post if you go back a few pages. Basically my nursing GPA was a 3.8 and my HESI was a 95. I already have a Bachelor's degree, and I was in a sorority so I did some volunteer work... but I don't remember ever listing that on my application? I don't have any experience in the medical field. I'm not sure if they are going to start using interviews again, they didn't use them for us or for Fall 2011. Good luck on applying, the application process isn't nearly as bad as waiting for an acceptance!
