This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)
I'm applying with the following stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.21
Science GPA: 3.66
Overall GPA: 2.81
I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)
Good luck to everyone!!
@GILLTY
I am taking the Math Statistics right now at HCC Central campus. My Prof is J. W---iams (didnt realize I couldnt say his name, sorry allnurses!) and I would DEFINITELY recommend him to other students. He is goofy, class is laid back,and he gives plenty of homework, quizzes and a project to help buffer a low test score on your average. Plus, if that wasn't enough, he also gives extra credit.
I am definitely not a math person, but I chose to take the Math Statistics precisely bc I heard horrible things about the psyc stats teacher. and I'm very happy with the class/professor I chose.

We have the same professor. Are we in the same class? I take it Mon, Wed @ 5:30
Ok, I don't post much here, but I do a lot of reading of the posted threads. I believe it was sarah that posted:
"Have yall sent your immunization records yet ? bc it's still a hold for me...I was just going to wait till I get a letter"
I sent my immunization in about 8 months ago when I applied to the Fall 2011 semester, and they took that hold off imediately. I sent my CPR in at the same time and that hold never came off. I called and they said that the CPR hold will not come off until I have been accepted into the program. So I am sitting, as of right now, with only one hold.
Somebody else was asking about stats class. I took professor Egg (not his real name, but you will figure it out) at North Harris LSC over this past summer mini 3 week. He is AWESOME. I believe that there were about 25-30 of us in the class. He assigns everybody a number and post the grades on his personal web site, so you can see how everybody is doing in the class. I wana say there was only 4-5 people who didn't make an A. You might check and see if he is offering a Winter Break Mini. He doesn't even require you to take the final if you are happy with your grade at that point without it.
Next for those of you that applied at PV A&M as well. I was told originally that I would know something by the 10th of Oct (Even though their deadline was OCT1.) As of yet I have not received anything from them, so I just got off of the phone with them and they said they are running behind, and letters will be going out in about 1-2 weeks. I guess in the long run this will work out because it will give me more time to hear back from UTHSC H (my first choice.)
Lastly, I am sure most of you have checked out the other threads for different hopefull semesters, but for those that haven't, I found a great resource for Q&A to be the Spring Hopefulls for 2011.
Like all of you I check UT Link everytime I go by a computer. funny
