This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)
I'm applying with the following stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.21
Science GPA: 3.66
Overall GPA: 2.81
I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)
Good luck to everyone!!
@saraiish, I think you just have to have taken it by Sept. 1st. That is the deadline they gave us.......not the deadline they gave themselves to have UTLink updated.
What did you mean by the AP average is 74 and CT is 80? Was that the class average when you took the Hesi? Or do you know someone else that recently took it and that's the average now?
Hi all. Joining the thread a little late, but I'm a Spring hopeful too. I'm taking the HESI next Wendesday and trying to get my transcript evals in order- it has been like pulling teeth to get anyone (a) on the phone, (b) who understands what I'm clearly asking to be corrected, and © who has any clue how to do so!Other than that unfortunate situation, I am so in love with everything about the program and have some serious concerns about my application- some big strengths and big weaknesses. I'd be heartbroken not to join the Spring class, but here's hoping!
Best of luck to you all!
Hey everyone, I am also applying for the spring 2012 program!
Nightingale: what do you mean by the transcript evaluations??
Thanks and best of luck to us all!
if it helps anyone, i used the ct book that was sent and not a single one of those questions were used. thwy aren't really the same type. almost every single question was modeled as so:patient(s): 1 pt or multiple, age, why they're in hospital
scenario: what has gone on recently
question: what should the nurse do or who should be seen first, etc
abcs, triage, and children/elderly 1st is most helpful. i didn't do fantastic, but i got a 780 which is 30 over required.
hope this helps :)
here are some questions from chapter 7 of the ct book that i thought might help and are somewhat similar to what is on the test. taylorxteddy do you think you could look them over and recommend if they are helpful or not?
