I am applying to UTHSC Houston - Fall 2013. Anybody else?

Do you guys know if UT-Houston offers the pathophysiology class in the summer at their campus that we could take before the Fall?

Kkai, what are you going to do about the UTMB honors program? I wonder when we will hear back from that for sure...

I know! I was going to call them today because I never received a transcript evaluation, then I checked my email and was like well never mind. I chose UTHSC because I wanted to be in Houston. I couldn't apply to TWU because Im taking nutrition this semester and you have to have it finished to apply. I also couldn't take the TEAS in time for UTMB. So my only other option was Prairie View.

Congrats! Are you going to go to UT or PV?

UT it was my first choice. I haven't herd from Prairie View yet.

carla, I know! It's such a hard decision right?! Right now, I'm thinking about rejecting my spot to UTMB. I have no plan to move close to UTMB, and I don't think I want to waste my time commuting, especially having busy days with kids. So, I'm leaning towards TWU or UTHSC. I would love to finish the program as soon as I can. In this regard, UTHSC is the one, but then I will have to see the cost of day care during summer break. What about you?

Well it's such a hard decision for me too... i live about an hour and a half outside of Houston so I will have to move either way. My sister did not get accepted to uthsc but did get into UTMB and was also offered to apply for the honors program. I want to move with her but I wanted to make sure this honors program was a done deal first you know? So I was hoping we would find out about that before uthsc released acceptances.

Yeah, that makes sense. I wonder if it's a program that you will have to go through another selection game? or something like everyone who got a letter is automatically qualified to get full benefit?

kkai and carlajeanx I am now in the same boat as y'all! The honors program at UTMB sounds great but I don't know how I could leave Houston right now because I have a complicated family situation going on right now... And before I knew about the honors program, I was pretty sure about going to UT Houston if I got accepted.

Congrats to everyone who just got their acceptance! If you don't mind, would you share your stats with the rest of us still waiting. And does anyone know how they send out acceptances? Is it in one big group, or a little at a time? Thanks in advance. Here are my stats.

Prereq gpa- 3.94

Science gpa- 4.0

Hesi test- 94

Critical thinking-790

Here are my stats:

Prereq GPA: 3.7

Science GPA: 4.0

HESI: 94

CT: 890

And I have also taken Patho and Pharm, which I heard looks good to them because so many have a hard time with these courses in their 1st semester of nursing school.

Hi Everyone,

Congrats to those who have been accepted already. I had applied for the Spring 2013 intake and got accepted. I did everything required to start the program and even bought books and uniform. Two weeks before the start date, they received my final transcript and I was told that one of my electives could not transfer! (Introduction to computers - ITSC 1301 at HCC). I was so disappointed that I was not going to start with everyone else and wanted to give up, but then I applied again for the Fall 2013 and they just accepted me again!!

My best advice is to make sure that your electives will transfer. Call them and find out if you are not sure. It is still early enough to CLEP a class if you have to, or take another class in Summer 1. Just because you get that letter of acceptance, does not mean that you are IN. I learned that the hard way. I am taking three electives this semester just to be sure it doesn't happen to me again.

Once again congrats everyone and good luck!! Hopefully someone starts a facebook group like they did for the Spring semester.

I will start a FB page, but I wanted to make sure our grad date would be December 2014 right? I was going to name it UTHSC-SON class of December 2014 (that's what the past groups have done)
