Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:
Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75
Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0
Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.
My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -
Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30
Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! )
Overall Gpa: 3.28
Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.
My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.
Anyone else planning on applying? What are your stats? Any questions? Lets hear them, and good luck to all who are applying!
Does anyone know if you can specify which prereq you'd like for them to consider for the electives? I have a few electives and want them to use the ones with the best grades.
Hopefully. With the highest ones my gpa is 3.0. Ill be taking my sciences next semester along with a few other prereqs so it'll be higher. I plan on applying for spring 2013 since I can't meet the fall 2012 deadline :/
From what I understand they take about 80 students for the spring and around 100 for the fall..... I went to an information seminar and that is what I recall them saying.
As for the pre-reqs there are some classes that they won't take. PE's and thinks like that. I believe that it has to be a class like Algebra. They also don't take classes that you must take to take a pre-req, like pre-reqs for pre-reqs.... lol
:uhoh21: ok, more questions! I sent my application in last night and already received myUTH log-in/password. On my todo list it says I have to meet TSI satisfication, but I thought I would be excempt because of taking my pre-reqs??? Does this mean they haven't received my transcripts yet?? I didn't see a place to check for transcripts.
Oh, BTW, Thank you for the answers! I kind of a perfectionist and I have to make sure I've gotten everything covered!!
Hi. Everyone. I am new to this forum and I am considering on planning to attend UT Nursing Houston in the fall of 2012. If I don't get accepted I would like to try again in the spring of 2013.
Does anyone know the average gpa's of the applicants that applied in the spring and fall of last year or the year before last year?
Hope everybody is doing well in preparing for the application deadline! I take my HESI this Saturday and have been studying endlessly, I'm so ready to get this last part of my application complete !! UT received my transcripts and I am TSI exempt. Final step and I'm ready ;)
The lowest GPA that I have seen if someone who was accepted was a 2.9. Other than that they have been anywhere from 3.0-4.0..... But im seeing a LOT of people with 4.0's saying that they still haven't heard anything. I just wish I knew specifically what they are looking for
