UTHSC-Houston Fall 2012 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:

Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75

Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0

Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.

My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -

Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30

Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! :crying2: )

Overall Gpa: 3.28

Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.

My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.

Anyone else planning on applying? What are your stats? Any questions? Lets hear them, and good luck to all who are applying!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to update because I was accepted to Houston Baptist University's nursing program for Spring 2012. I'm still waiting on UTMB because that is my first choice school, but I will gladly go anywhere that accepts me!

Best of luck to everyone in the admissions process! By the looks of ya'lls scores, none of yall should have any problems getting in.

Oh yeah, then that should be no problem. Thanks.

KRR2009,

Many many congratulations on your admission. I wish you the best of luck.

KRR2009 - well, congradulations, HBU is too expensive for me but if that is not a problem for you, go for it.

Oh by no means is it not a problem for me lol. But again any nursing school is better than none. I'll find some means to get through it. Thank you all though :-)

TSI certified? I never took any entrance tests for college.... I was exempt from all of those because I did so well on the TAAS test (yes I know I'm old...) Does anyone knowhow things would work for me? Do you think I'll need to locate the paperwork from high school? Or will that info be in my transcripts?

I don't know why they would ask for TSI since everyone here has already been in college. I hope when they see that you have been in college completing prerequisites that they will say it's not important. I think if you explain your situation it will not be a problem.

Don't worry about the TSI, Hemphia you should not worry about it coz Taas will satisfy that and Warning-Sign you too don't have to worry. This a Texas regulated thing for students who want to attend college. But all of us should not worry about it at all..... It is just a formality. I will get you guys more information soon, coz I already send them an email...... will be receiving a response soon.

Ok, I was considered TSI exempt on my UTSA transcript, will UTH take that into consideration? I'm an out of state student

ladydeeb4213,

Do you know the reason why you were TSI exempt, coz I know if you have a bachelors degree usually you are TSI exempt; but most probably if you were TSI exempt at one institution in Texas, you will be TSI exempt at others too......

Ok, Yes, I'm TSI exempt at two texas institutions. I'm exempt because of my college level work.

hey you guys sorry I have been super busy with school. But i have am taking the HESI test soon. All of you guys have such high scores that I was wondering if you have any tips for me (:

I am worried on the A&P and critical thinking sections since I was looking at past forums of previous semesters and it seems that those two sections are what most students had trouble with it.

OH and I am planning to apply to UTHSC San Antonio, and UTA but UTHSC Houston is my first choice so I am praying that we all get in!!

AND what is this TSI stufff?
