Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:
Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75
Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0
Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.
My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -
Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30
Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! )
Overall Gpa: 3.28
Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.
My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.
Anyone else planning on applying? What are your stats? Any questions? Lets hear them, and good luck to all who are applying!

overall hesi: 91.86

Hey guys! I took my HESI today and did good ... The only problem is the testing center gave me the wrong version. I was supposed to take version 1 but when I got to my computer it said version 2. I went and told them that it was the wrong version and they pretty much told me that if I didn't take it I'd lose my money, my slot, and go down as a no show/no test. So I took it because I didn't want to waste everything. Has this happened to anyone else and did UT accept your scores? I'm scared that I will have to retake it and spend another 100 bucks! Anyway here are my overall results ...
Pre-Req GPA: 3.885
Science GPA: 4.0
Hesi Overall: 96%
Reading: 98
Math: 100
A&P: 92
Grammar: 98
Vocab: 92
CT: 850
I'm glad it's over and my application process is complete. I'm just concerned about the version issue! Best of luck to everyone!
timewilltell hello every one, will be retaking hesi in two wks.pls i will appreciate any advice from someone who has been in my shoes.thanks
First off good luck on your HESI! I would recommend studying the HESI Assessment Guide for the English, Math, Reading, and Vocabulary. For the science you can check what you missed on your first attempt and study those areas heavily. When checking your results from evolve you can click on My Exams and instead of clicking the Admission Assessment Report click on the plus (+) sign and it will tell you what you missed. Then you'll know kind of where to focus your studies. For the Science portion I would take the info from Evolve and just comb over old notes or A&P textbook! I hope this helps! Good luck to you!

It should not be a problem. The two versions are pretty much the same and they just consider the latest test you took. They might just think you took it twice, which makes no difference.
Hi warning sign, i take my hesi in two wks pls any advice from u will be appreciated as to what i might expect as i am retaking mine too.pls where do u think i might have to focus on in my preparation for the different sections.thank u.
Good Luck. I know it's a drag to have to take it again. I have some material that might help you, so if you give me your email I might send it to you.
For anyone who is taking the HESI, I have some A&P questions, a critical thinking book (PDF) that might help (Fundamentals Success A Course Review Applying Critical Thinking to Test Taking) a suggestion guide that I made, and some other things that might help, if anyone wants these, post or send me your email.

I believe for fall semesters they actually accept 100 students plus 50 pacesetters. Better chances of getting in, but a lot more students applying.
