Hello friends!
I'm creating this as a communication board for new students/applicants to talk on about:
A quick intro-- My name is Maira and I've followed previous threads on here and I love how much information you can get from it! (I followed and read ALL of UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016)
I'm applying at UThealth for the nursing pacesetter program for Spring 2017. The application is due by Aug. 15 and I haven't submitted it yet because I haven't taken the HESI! I'm getting anxious about taking it, have any of y'all taken yours yet?!
Also, I've been meaning to stop by the school and see if my pre-reqs meet their requirements. I'm a bit confused on whether they will average 2 scores of the same class or not. For instance, a long time ago I took a English course and got a F (I was careless and young) and now I retook it and got a A. Another thing that I've been wondering about is what exactly the 5 hours of "electives" are-- will they accept a math class for it?
Well I look forward to meeting all of you!!!! Good luck!!!!
I'm sorry about my spelling. I wrote "tiger" instead of "titer." so Funny lol
Hep B, C, and Varicella titers are all non-optional. It's also a good idea to have an MMR titer done, but this is not required if you have documentation of the two shots of that series. These are their most updated immunization requirements. https://nursing.uth.edu/dotAsset/76b4ac70-37cb-4d1d-9bd5-18a082248770.pdf
Hi! I'm new to the forum and was denied to pacesetter
I've tried calling UT to ask if they'll tell me why I was denied- that way I'll atleast know what I should do or not do when applying again. I've asked for Joann Mendoza and she's always doing something or they take a message. I can't get a straight answer from anyone!!! Do you know of anyone else that was denied and UT giving them a reason as to why??? Sounds like some sort of lottery system but no ones gonna admit to that!!
If anyone is looking to re-locate close to the med center - I am currently moving and need someone to take over my lease. I currently work in the med center and live in Montrose only 3 miles away. I actually bike to work every day! My currently roommate is a phD student at BCM and she is incredibly smart and responsible. Rent is $550/mo + utilities. 2 Bed + 1 bath. I am also looking to get rid of my furniture if you need it to be furnished. Message me and I can send you some pictures!

Thanks for replying Casey an Paomich,
i was looking at the certification of immunization on UT's website, and it states that I must have either a vaccine OR a titer done, that's why I'm confused.
unless I'm checking the wrong sheet.
on the HEP titers. Which exactly tiger do they want. I know they have several.
sorry guys.
