Hello friends!
I'm creating this as a communication board for new students/applicants to talk on about:
A quick intro-- My name is Maira and I've followed previous threads on here and I love how much information you can get from it! (I followed and read ALL of UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016)
I'm applying at UThealth for the nursing pacesetter program for Spring 2017. The application is due by Aug. 15 and I haven't submitted it yet because I haven't taken the HESI! I'm getting anxious about taking it, have any of y'all taken yours yet?!
Also, I've been meaning to stop by the school and see if my pre-reqs meet their requirements. I'm a bit confused on whether they will average 2 scores of the same class or not. For instance, a long time ago I took a English course and got a F (I was careless and young) and now I retook it and got a A. Another thing that I've been wondering about is what exactly the 5 hours of "electives" are-- will they accept a math class for it?
Well I look forward to meeting all of you!!!! Good luck!!!!
Goodmorning guys,I called UTH just now and asked about the waitlist. On their website, it says that sometime on, or around November 15th people will
be notified if they are waitlisted, denied, or accepted. So I called to confirm that information, and I was told that they have until November 15th to send out actual letters about waitlist, acceptance, or denial. It may not be sent through the portal or through email, but by actual mail... so who knows when we'll find out. It may not even be today! But I would still check email/my UTH portal periodically through out the day.
As for me, I am waitlisted. So I asked... does acceptance/denial extend beyond the Nov. 15th date for those on the waitlist... and I was told that waitlisted applicants can be accepted/denied up until the second week of DECEMBER. So the waiting game continues.
I just cannot keep waiting on and on like this...especially people have recieved their acceptance as early as October 20th. It's defeating and discouraging, but it's just the way it is. So looks like we all just have to keep waiting.
Best of luck to everyone!
That is so stupid because there are more than a few people who won't have their prerequisite completely.
Things like Chem and stats and microbiology they won't be able to take it in the mini but they will hold on to their position until like January the deadline for transcript. So stupid. They shouldn't accept people who are at least not registered for everything. Cause there is no way they can get Chem stats and other sciences before deadline.

I'm sorry to hear that you were denied admission. I hope you're able to enter a nursing program in the near future!
Were you waitlisted before you recieved your denial email?
