Hello friends!
I'm creating this as a communication board for new students/applicants to talk on about:
A quick intro-- My name is Maira and I've followed previous threads on here and I love how much information you can get from it! (I followed and read ALL of UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016)
I'm applying at UThealth for the nursing pacesetter program for Spring 2017. The application is due by Aug. 15 and I haven't submitted it yet because I haven't taken the HESI! I'm getting anxious about taking it, have any of y'all taken yours yet?!
Also, I've been meaning to stop by the school and see if my pre-reqs meet their requirements. I'm a bit confused on whether they will average 2 scores of the same class or not. For instance, a long time ago I took a English course and got a F (I was careless and young) and now I retook it and got a A. Another thing that I've been wondering about is what exactly the 5 hours of "electives" are-- will they accept a math class for it?
Well I look forward to meeting all of you!!!! Good luck!!!!
Yea i have been waitlisted too. I wonder how that works. I had 4.0 science GPA and 3.8 cumulative and i submitted my application as soon as i was done with my pre-requisites in early june. Dang. I was really hoping to get in. I also applied to PVAMU nursing, still havent heard anything from them.. Congratulations to all those that got accepted..and for those of us on the waitlist...eehh i guess we wait.
Hey, i got my waitlist email from JoAnn Mendoza, at [email protected], (713) 500-2106. Im not sure if she's the one to contact, but you can at least start there. Good luck.
Okay y'all I was waitlisted as well and I have been very anxious and crazy to find out if I have gotten in or not...so I just called and they have all the way until a week before school starts in JANUARY to pull waitlisted people. so my advice to anybody who has been waitlisted is to start getting your immunizations, CPR certification, drug test , and criminal background check NOW. Because if you are on the waitlist they could pull you at anytime between now and the week before school starts so you want to make sure you have those things done so that you can enroll in classes. For real y'all.. good luck. This is so stressful but I wish for the best for everyone including myself good luck and keep praying!
No news yet. I have not even heard if i was waitlisted either. The whole process seems out of control, If we were declined then we should be the first to know so we can prepare for the next steps. I also have a bachelors In Health Professions, so it's really confusing to see why i wouldnt get in
I only applied for UTHealth and UTMB for BSN Spring 2017. I did not make UTMB and UTHealth is looking pretty grim. Looking forward, can anyone let me know of other local BSN programs? I need to start looking into programs for Summer 2017. I hate to miss a whole semester but I need to start preparing, I am 100% complete with everything just need to find a program I can get into. All my grades are competitive.

Can someone tell me if its Nov 4th the day we found out about rejections? I was about to signed up for the TEAS but they don't give out refunds if you decided to cancel. Just want to be on the safe side.
