UTH Cizik School of Nursing Spring 2021 (Pacesetter)

Hi everyone! I found this forum last night and figured I would create this for anyone who wants to discuss the pacesetter program for Spring 2021. The application deadline will be here before we know it! I will be taking courses at San Jac this Summer to finish my pre-reqs ( a lot of the unfortunately ). Hope everyone is staying safe and taking this time to prepare as much as possible. I had been volunteering at Methodist but unfortunately that has ceased for now. Post anything you’d like here!

no I believe they send the out towards the end of october (the earliest) or early November (when they usually send them out according to the group me I’m in)

I was reading the website and it said we should hear back by November 15th.

I just got the transcript evaluation in the mail. I'm not sure why though or what to do with it.

Does everyone receive this?

I have all my prerequisites completed already.

Don't worry about it. When I applied I received one and had all my preqs completed. From looking at these threads when I was applying people also got in who didn't receive one in the post. Just think of it as something to verify how they are scoring your prereqs.

Does anyone know what the typical schedule is for classes and clinicals? I’m not sure if they have mentioned it in a information session.

It varies on the semester, do you mean for the first semester?

@DontWorryBeHappy Yes, the first semester. Like what days clinicals are on and other nursing classes. I’ve seen that other schools provide a general M-F schedule.

Things could change in how they do the schedule but they seem fairly consistent with schedule and it seems the same from semester to semester. Monday morning for us was health assessment and the afternoon health lab. Because of covid the setup has been affected and we had different time slots for lab.

Tuesday we had care 1 in the morning. Wednesday morning pharm. Normally weds afternoon is patho in the schedule. Clinicals in J1 were either Thursday, Friday or Saturday but you had one day allocated.

Then throw in the mix tutoring sessions for exams (not mandatory) and times vary, exams (usually in the classes time slot) and we had some extra care skills labs on Fridays I think. I'll be honest originally it looked like a bunch of free time but there is a tendency for things to get put in empty time slots some of the time.

So in essence Monday morning and part of pm, tues morning, weds and clinicials on either Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

Has anyone had their transcript evaluation not show the correct classes for the pre-reqs? I emailed the mentioned address regarding my questions 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything yet. They are saying I haven't fulfilled Chemistry because they used my one pre-chem class that was only 2.0 units. I took three quarters of general Chemistry with labs! Anyone else have any luck getting a followup regarding the evaluation?

Yeah I had 3 errors on my evaluation. Call the registrar office. They’ll be able to fix it
