UTH Cizik School of Nursing BSN Pacesetter- Fall 2019

Published

Hey everyone?!

Just wanted to start a forum to see if there are any other nursing student applicants for the Fall semester? I just applied, although, I know I will not get a response until beginning of April. I was so excited since I just finished my HESI. I had to retake it since I did not take Vocab. the first time I took it? . Anyways, I really pray I get in for August so I can get started and not need to take any additional classes for other schools. My friend got in for Spring 2019 and she is loving it. I have really been fighting to get here for a VERY LONG TIME

I really can't wait. Good luck to everyone! ?

A friend we started taking prerequisites together is graduating as an RN this fall. Here i am still hoping to get in BSN school.?

If i don't get accepted, am going for ADN. Bsn is kinda competitive

Chamberlain is super expensive! And the way their BSN program is designed no one can graduate in less than 28 months. It takes at least two years and one semester to graduate. If you repeat the courses ( they allow two fails), it will take even longer. They accept almost anyone, the GPA requirement is very low. It is too stressful though.

Yea when I went to the open house the admissions person said that even with prerequisites don’t you’d have to attend the school for 2 years and 4 months or something like that. But then I kept hearing conflicting information from other people.

I am also on the fence on what to do if the BSN programs I apply to don’t accept me. If after the spring i don’t get in anywhere then I may also start considering ADN schools.

I went to Chamberlain so i know for sure that no one can graduate unless attending for certain amount of time. This is their business model to make as much money as they can. This is why they accept practically anyone but only fifteen percent graduate from the original cohort. They would fail you just for any thing if given a chance so you can retake a class and of course pay for it again. And you can come back in a year again.

It is just too expensive for me, i would had to pay around $70,000 to get a BSN.

Yea that was what I saw on their website and also what I heard from others. I guess that is what makes schools like UTH and UTMB that much more competitive. They are great schools but also so much cheaper.

Exactly! At first, i wanted to start a nursing school asap. But then i realized all this stress and expenses are not worth it.

Hi, I have applied for the UT Fall 2019. The waiting time is really getting into my nerve. Could you please to tell me how to calculate the cumulative GPA? I haven't received the course evaluation from the school.

If you have yet to receive a transcript eval, you probably won't since we should be finding out in about the next 2 weeks. Personally, I found a GPA calculator and entered the info since on my transcript some of my F's and D's were still calculated. I didn't know about dropping or withdrawing from classes in the beginning of my school journey.

Hope that helps.

Ugh that was me as well. But I specifically remember some professors talking about “saving your W’s because you only get 6”, and that scared me into taking F’s instead of W’s one semester when my car crapped out. Worst decision ever, but I didn’t know any better.
