Hello,
I just wanted to check in and see if anyone has received acceptance or any kind of notification into the ONLINE FNP Academic partnership for the April 7th start!
Thanks
Ok, I have have gotten my email address but can't sign in. Can't enroll in class due to the class not being there. Any one else here going to do just one class at a time? I sent an email to the advisor but haven't heard anything back yet. Also anyone know about text books, are they online or do we need to get hard copies. I'm not getting very good help from any of these advisors at the school. I don't know when or how to pay. This is getting really frustrating.
You can't login in to your mav email or you can't login to your MyMav? To enroll, you need to login to your MyMav.
I am also going to do 1 class at a time. I haven't heard anything from my advisor either, but the enrollment counsellor told me to go ahead and register for Theory (NURS 5327) which runs 5/19 to 6/22. If you can login to MyMav, you can enroll. You also pay in MyMav.
As far as textbooks, that you can look up yourself pretty easily. Go to the UTA bookstore and search for that class. For session, choose "DYN". It will tell you exactly which books you need. There are 2 for the Theory class. It's possible that there are e-book versions you can download, but I detest e-textbooks so I don't know.
Hope that helps.
Shot in the dark, but are you searching for the class correctly? I know I had a problem finding my classes until I realized I was searching undergrad, not grad classes.
For term, make sure it says 2145 (this is summer 2014).
For subject, put NURS.
For course number, put 5327.
For course career, change it from undergraduate to graduate.
When you click search, 4 classes will pop up. The correct one is the third one, #51466. There are only 48 people registeted thus far for the course and it allows 500, so you should have no problem enrolling.
Your password for email should be the same as the mymav. I always had difficulty finding specific nursing courses so I just tell it to look for nurs and pull up all the classes and pick from those. You pay in mymav, and it has to be paid the friday before class starts. I would say by five.
I am only taking one class at a time as I work full time still and have little kids. As for books I go to the bookstore website and search for the class and write down which ones and order them from amazon used as they are usually cheaper. I have tried to order used from the bookstore but they seem to be out most of the time. E books are available but I hate those. I also use my books for references sometimes for papers. They seem to like ten references per paper so it's nice.
I am doing a combination of the 1 at a time with the 2 at a time. THis is my degree plan.
I will stll finish if as if I did 2 at a time, but they aren't all stacked up like the 2 at a time.
Theory 5/19
Research 6/30
Path 9/22
Theory & Research 9/22---this will probably be the hardest section with path
Pharm 1/12
Clinical skills 4/6
assessment 4/6
elective 5/18
adult management 6/29
Pedi management 6/29
Psychiatric management 9/21
adv role 9/21
independent study 1/11
FNP 1 1/11
FNP 2 4/4
Adv practicum 6/28
I got my course map today. It's the same 1-at-a-time course map that was posted a page or two ago.
My financial aid package came through today. 20K allowed. I'm planning to decline it for now. Just wanted to let others know in case they are waiting on theirs.
Has anyone gotten credit for the $4000 scholarship or the partnership discount? Nothing has shown up anywhere. I spoke to the enrollment counselor today and she said she submitted my name for both, but sometimes the Bursar's office is slow. She advised to wait until Friday and call the Bursar if nothing has shown.
