UTA Fall 2013

I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.

I was trying to take notes as she gave me information...she said clinical days are Sat and Sun at Bayshore. Testing days are on Thurs. Did she mention times to either of you? I forgot to ask.

I guess they're doing Houston/non-DFW first since it's less complicated.

I would assume most clinicals would be 7-7 but I don't know for sure.

No, for us the clinicals are 7am-5pm from what she told me, and yes testing days are Thursdays for the first semester. Also she did mention that Pasadena does not have a pedi unit so we may have to do that rotation at a different facility, our Saturdays are split between Foundations and assessment, Sunday is Foundations. Also next semester Psych is a one a day a week clinical.

Hi all. first time here :)

I live in Austin, as far as I know they don't have clinical site in Austin :(

I am wondering if there is clinical sites in San Antonio? If not, I will have to move to Houston and hopefully I can do the clinical in Bayshore since my relative live in Spring Texas. Maybe I will get to meet you Houston folks :)

Does anyone know how many weeks of break in between courses do we get?

For it to work out to 15 months, It would have to be three, one week breaks. If that's true, Junior 2 would start the week of x-mas, unless my count is off.

Do you know anything about testing days? I know she said they are on Thursdays, but I was wondering what they entail... hands-on testing or written tests? I guess we will find all of this out during orientation, but I'm just curious. lol.

I am currently on the waiting list for UTA Ap-BSN program and just got accepted into el centro program now I'm stuck in what to do I have until May 29th to respond but my first choice would be UtA even though I am on the waiting list and I hear back from Methodist/El centro program in early July! Has anyone been called off the waiting list? I'm so stuck on what to do.

If i were in your situation I would accept El Centro's offer until you get called off the wait list from UTA, because there is not a guarantee that they will call ... I wish you the best of luck on your decision.
