Nursing Students Texas (UTA)
Published Nov 7, 2012
I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.

Hi
yes as far as what I was told by the lady at the school (the name on our emails to send all completed docs to), she said only 2 clinical locations for now, Lake Jackson and Pasadena
Well, if that's right then I'm happy to see Pasadena on the list. That is so much closer! I wonder how we are assigned? Fingers crossed.
Pasadena is still about an hour away from me, but we'll see. how far is pasadena from you?
I live in Atascocita/Kingwood, so about 45 minutes. It's better than Lake Jackson, which is about 1 1/2 hours away.
Either locaton is fine I stay in between both, plus I have a EZ Tag so Pasadena isn't too far, bcuz that traffic can be crazy depending on what time we have clinicals.
Has anyone else received any phone calls from the CON? I had a missed call on my phone... someone from the CON left me a message just asking me to call them back regarding the nursing program this fall. I tried to call back, but no answer, so I left a vm. Just wondering what it could be about.
Update: She called to ask me which clinical location I preferred. In Houston, they are what we have been told by some other students all along: Bayshore Medical Center in Pasadena, and Brazosport Regional Med Center in Lake Jackson. She said students are awarded clinical sites based on their ranking.
I am assigned to Bayshore Med Center in Pasadena. :-)

She just called me! I'm assigned to pasadena as well! So happy about it! I was expecting them to randomly assign us to sites. So happy right now!
