UTA FALL 2012

Published

Hey all, I thought I would set up a place to discuss the next application period for UTA's Fall 2012 nursing program. There was so much info in the Spring 2012 forum, thought it might be helpful to start a new thread...

Post away!

I met with my advisor today. Basically all I got from her was "a good amount of people get called up from the waitlist". When I asked about considerations vs. GPA she told me GPA matters most. From my own experience and from others I have read on here, that does not seem to be the case... Just waiting/hoping until a middle of May phone call!!

MEGREEN,

Sorry for the off-topic everyone, but I'm not able to send messages yet.

I have interview at THR for Special Admissions on Wed. Can you or anyone else working in this position tell me what the pay range is for this position. I was told they would ask, but I haven't a clue on what that position should pay. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

T.

It depends on if you have experience or not I think. I started our $11.08 an hour 5 years ago with no previous work history but quick trip. So I'm sure it's much higher than they now.

I only applied to the traditional program. I'm not partnered though.

Can someone please tell me when orientation is again? I know it's been posted here but I can't find it. Since I have absolutely nothing left to take I am trying to find out my fall enrollment plans but classes start on Aug 20!! I don't want to register if I might get called AFTER that date because it would count against my drop limit. Hope this makes sense! Basically, I am hoping orientation is before August 20 :)

My friend who was accepted to the traditional program (with one less B and no considerations -grrrr) was informed orientation will be August 3. I am assuming at that point, only a few will be called (no shows) :(

What are you all thinking about the probability that waitlisters will be called after the May 11th deadline for turning in intentions to attend in the fall?

I keep hearing about these people who were accepted to the traditional program, no considerations and not quite perfect GPA's. How is that? My advisor just keeps telling me "mid-May" is when they will start calling people off waitlist.

I can't take all the waiting anymore!!!!

Are any of you going to the info sessions this week? Just curious because when I asked my advisor if it was necessary at this point (since we are just waiting) she responded that it probably isn't necessary. I guess that just means they aren't going to tell us anything new.

If you don't mind sharing, what was your friend's GPA? I haven't met anyone who was accepted to the traditional program without any considerations. I am on the waitlist for traditional with no considerations, but I have a high GPA...

Also since acceptance letters are due this Friday, I am guessing the will start calling people next Friday the 18th. Fingers crossed!

Oh wow! That makes me so nervous. I am glad it is going to be sooner than later, but now I feel like impending doom is near.

She had finished all her sciences with a 3.75 GPA. She did take 2 of them at UTA. Her overall was approx. 3.9. What is your GPA info if you don't me asking, for comparison reasons? Do they always notify people of any acceptance info on Fridays(18th)?

So she had no considerations? You have to have taking three sciences at UTA for that to be a consideration. I have a 4.0 Science GPA and a 3.86 overall. I guess her overall GPA is a little higher than mine but I just don't understand the ranking process.

I looked at the Spring 2012 thread and when they started calling people was a week after their letters were due. That's where I got Friday, the 18th date. They can call you all the way up to orientation date but I want to know sooner rather than later.
