Hey all, I thought I would set up a place to discuss the next application period for UTA's Fall 2012 nursing program. There was so much info in the Spring 2012 forum, thought it might be helpful to start a new thread...

I'm going to go ahead and reapply for Fall 2012!!
I am as well!!! Just to be safe...they could call me off the wait list but I am not holding my breath...
Tejas, its gonna be me and you!
I am going to go ahead and apply to a couple other colleges but those transition programs wouldn't start until end of May (start once a year) so I figured I would have time to reapply to UTA. Letters for last Fall 2011 class came 1st week of May so plenty of time to wait it out...haha! I am also considering going ahead and applying for the traditional UTA program as well?!? Just not sure yet...
@BJBAILEY...did you ever find out where you are on wait list? Still praying you all are called!!
I'm also applying to as many jobs at a couple of the partnering hospitals as possible...lol! Trying to see if I can get a job asap! I would really like to apply this go around partnered!!
I never found out where on the wait list I am...but I am hoping near the top - if not the #1 spot...haha...
I agree...apply, apply, apply - then you can pick and choose the one that is the best for you.
Are you in the Dallas area? If so, go check out Baylor's site and send me an email and I will see if I can help you connect with the hiring manager...

I have applied as well. Took the HESI and sent in my application mid-November. Now I am settling in for a long wait. I had nearly given up on this program but recently started working for Baylor and am now cautiously optimistic. Good luck everyone!

I am applying to UTA 2012. I can't seem to figure out how to send my HESI scores to UTA from DCCCD. Does anyone know? This is kind of last minute and everyone is out of the office until 1/3 or 1/4 so I figured I might try my luck here. Thanks all

You know the sad thing is that these are good grades, but we all twist ourselves into pretzels if we don't do better. I don't want to be down, Papple, but I would really consider retaking your sciences if finances and timing make it possible. I cannot stress enough how important it is to make A's in your sciences and as many A's as possible in the other prerequ's. Even those who have really high GPA's still have difficulty being accepted. I'm sorry, I am not trying to be discouraging, just honest. I hope you are not offended.
Your chances also increase if you are working for a hospital that partners with the program. This will help a lot. Threads for prior semesters have shown that some with lower GPA's get accepted and they are employed by a partner hospital, so that provided the help when their grades may have it impossible to get in otherwise.
Alternatively, what you might also consider is going to LVN school and then doing an LVN to RN bridge program. From there, you can then later do an RN to BSN bridge.
Studentjen07: Are you not able to access your scores from the Elsevier site? If so, I would simply print it out and send it. If not, you can try calling Elsevier to ask them about how to get them sent.
I was able to find this on the site:
